Tony Finau new 3 wood?

Was watching The Masters today and it looks like Finau upgraded his 3 wood to the Callaway Paradym. Can anyone confirm? I haven't seen a recent WITB for him in awhile.

Just saw in the Masters app under the featured groups section, a picture of Tony holding the Paradym. Pretty interesting switch and a bad marketing photo for Ping haha.

He's been using a Callaway 3 Wood for about year now. Rogue ST Triple Diamond T 14* and now he's in the Paradym Triple Diamond T 14*.

I’m sure ping can live with the 3 wood. Hurts more with the driver

Ping's fairway woods are unique in how flat (height wise) they are. I love Ping stuff but have never been able to get along with their fairway woods. There's a few Ping staffers that don't play the 3W. Most do, but I get it with those that don't.

I think by “flat” you mean shallow? I’ve never liked Ping fairways because of how shallow they are. I’ve always been in Taylormades due to them seemingly always being a little deeper.

For the everyday average golfer playing, using a shallow fairway wood is incredibly useful. I know this is GolfWRX and most of us think that we're the next Tiger for some reason, but on average that shallow fairway wood is SOOOOOO EASY to hit off of the deck and way more people should be considering them. 

 

When I first read this thread I got super excited, because I though PING finally released their G430 LST Fairway wood to the pros to test out, and that it would only be a short matter of time before we mortals saw it. Looks like I was wrong and it'll still be a while

All that matters is that it has a ping headcover on it.

Hovland uses a TM 3W. Like others have said several Ping players look elsewhere for 3W’s.

He had been playing the G400 stretch, which I always felt was a bit of a dud. The G410, G425 and G430 are much better. But if he's using it mostly as a tee club, he might prefer a deeper face, and Ping just doesn't offer that option.

This is me almost exactly. Went into a fairway fitting and had my heart on the new pings just something about the shallow face makes it hard for me to hit well. Ended up with Stealth 2 plus footprint is similar from address just deeper face and I found the true interaction much better

Spoke with a PING rep a couple days ago and asked abut the LST 3 wood and he said they were told around June.

Why? Finau and Hovlands contracts state they must use a minimum of 11 Ping branded clubs.

Taylor Pendrith is another Ping staffer with a Paradym 3 wood in play.
