I watch the vast majority the events time shifted by 30 minutes or so. Allows me to skip commercials and the nauseating preshot routines. I have a 30 second skip button on my DVR remote, so I can easily tell when a player takes 30, 60, 90, or 120 seconds to play. There have been plenty of shots this week that have taken 90 seconds or more. Oy.

I'm similar, my remote has a 15 second skip button, it's almost always 4 x 15 sec pushes for most shots, sometimes more.

The product suffers, the tour needs to appoint a slow play tsar that can interact with the players doing a round eg 'Carlota, why are you not preparing to hit your shot whilst the group in front plays out, start preparing now because I am putting you on the shot clock'.

A season of that will sort them out.

Very lop-sided coverage of matches in the QF with at least 50% of time spent covering the Grant/Valenzuela match, 25% Boutier/Furue and a few time crumbs for Annanarukarn/Ciganda and Maguire/Weaver-Wright.

Why?

Because Linn Grant is the biggest draw left in the event? Just a thought.

Why?

But then I noticed the very bias coverage during the crown event....maybe the guy who decides just had his/her favourrites?! ,🤔

I think its fair, she doesn't get a start based on form and will rank 192 after the reshuffle. She has 0 CME points and $0 so far this season, a big fat zero.

She gets sponsors invites based on her 600k Insta followers, that's all she offers.

And is ranked because she was in the top 125 last year in points.

Or are you just upset she beat Danielle Kang?  No, she’s not the best player out there.  She in because so many had no interest in playing a match play event.

Are any of the top players in?

The original post was about Lindsey Weaver Wright, not Schubert.

If you guys don't under the original post about being the last American,  which means she beat Schubert and the fact I used the word fodder for the group winner implies that I was talking about the loser of the match with LWW, people saw lyndsey name in the post but didn't get the subtext of the original post.

I'm not a Danielle Kang fan, couldn't care who wins out of her or Muni.

Muni played as a sponsors invitee (Argonne mentioned she is sponsored by MGM), not because of her ranking.

Dozens of players ranked above her plenty would have accepted a sponsors invite if offered, I expect.

Let's see if she keeps getting sponsors invites to other events after the reshuffle.

From a talent standpoint I think Muni is underrated, she's definitely not Inbee, but if I question anything it's her commitment.  I find Muni very Su Oh'ish, makes lots of birdies but also lots of bogey and others that spoil good rounds too often.

Now that I would definitely agree with.  For players that would likely never get to the top should they forego offered income and go practice more?  Some can earn more on Instagram or whatever than they likely could on course.  Easy for us to say the player should but we all know that’s not how it works.

Like so many other players who haven't won yet, Muni is clearly talented.  But, she hasn't been able to put it all together like Brooke, Nelly or Lydia.  She played well this week; she's the group leader entering Day 3 but like always she couldn't cross the finish line.

She should've earned healthy CME Globe points based on her results this week; but she may get nothing if LPGA considers Match Play as a tournament with no cut.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure a sponsor's invite doesn't get points this week due to the format.  I'm pretty sure I heard them mention that on the broadcast.

I'm intrigued by the matches this morning!  Although It's almost impossible to pick winner for most matches, the style of play usually dictates the quality of match.

The power of Linn Grant vs. the precision of Pajaree, the all around games from both Leona and Ayaka; I can't wait to see it on Peacock!

What I noticed this week about Linn that I didn't really see is her weakness chipping and play around the greens.  There are many LPGA courses where she can survive this and get a win.  In the majors and tougher stroke play events she really needs to tighten that up because that can really hurt her when battling the LPGA's best.

Correct and this event has always held 2 invitee spaces, so nobody should be upset that Yaeeun and Muni are in the field .. they are at least an upgrade over last years invitees in Tiff Chan and now retired Youngin Chun .. the problem should be just to have the top 64 based on points and nix these invites, but you need to appease the sponsors and in the grand scheme it means very little

A lot of these LPGA pros have that issue, you've mentioned some already.   We may not know the real priorities but it sure seems like it's not pro golf.   eg their beaus, go back to home country etc

Can't blame them for trying to "Get 'em all" if they really have the talent but at some point, the wheat eventually gets separated from the chaffe (eg lose their card)

I give the slight edge to Ayaka to win it all for her 2nd LPGA title - and if she does, good sportsmanship is rewarded (good gals win👍)

Both Ayaka and Pajaree are top notch; there can't be a better winner!

Sorry, I've a question for you! You're fairly new here but seem to know LPGA well; did you use a different username/email address before?

I don't see a tee time listed on the LPGA site for the consolation match. Wondering if they quit? Wouldn't be the first time. Hoping it's just an(other) oversight.

It's mentioned during the Peacock broadcast that there isn't any consolation match anymore.  Instead, there'll be a celebrity pairing in conjunction with the Championship Match.  The celebrity match will be nine holes starting on Hole #10.

Makes sense, unless there's a week off I probably wouldn't wanna play a 7th match.  And there have been withdrawals and that kinda looks bad.
