When I had mine that’s what it was plugged into. Solid combo and my dumb*%* sold the VF….twice 🤣

Twice?!  I don't think I've ever done that.  What happened the second time around?

I was a little out of sync with my swing. I didn’t realize it until after I sold it and looked at my LM data. Oh well, it is what it is.

Has anyone tried the VF with the TSR3 head yet?

Currently gaming the Ventus Black 6X

Finally did last night. Feels very promising. Especially with cool range balls and me being a touch out of shape from the winter and not getting out much the last 3 months. To me it felt a little better than the Ventus Black (especially since I’m not swinging as fast right now) and I like that it can actually move left a touch

Good looking numbers. I don’t have a problem turning the Ventus over a touch left which makes me think that the VF could be dangerously spicy. Might have to pick one up for those certain wide courses in the future.

Really wanted to like the 5X as it felt really good and I was amazed at the club speed numbers it was giving me with zero effort (I’m normally around 110-115, but I haven’t swung a club since September, and was swinging off a base of a torn meniscus in my left knee and a bum right knee and was stiff and was hitting 115-120), but could just not feel where the clubhead was and was getting way too much deflection. As an aside, I think this was compounded by a new swing fault, but im not JT, and just won’t be able to control the high torque on this like he apparently did for the short time he was using it.

Fun experiment. Would be willing to trade anyone for a 6X or TX haha. Otherwise back to Ventus

it may or may not have been mentioned here, but did the VF replace the Tour GP?

Well, their EI profiles are very similar.  Launch/spin/feel not so much, IMO.

Yeah it was a great way to end the day after not getting out much lately. Had to take one more snapshot from the putting green before leaving! Great night and was out there solo for the last 20-30 minutes of it. Great reminder of the little things that make us love the game… and then in turn chase the endless torment of equipment we all put ourselves through 😂

I had the UB briefly last year and now am in the VF.  I loved everything about the UB however, I couldn't square the face to save my life.  Must've been the softer mid and handle as I had the same issue with the DI.  The stiffer mid and handle make the VF much more stable for me.  It's got the same smooth GD feel.  It feels linear as well like the UB.

How would you compare them?

I had the TR Black 7x in driver and now VF-7TX.  TR Black is very stout from tip to grip and linear.  VF is linear as well however the handle is softer therefore I can feel a slight bend right under it.  TR Black is more anti-left.  VF launched 1-2* higher and spin is similar.  VF is smooth whereas the TR Black is like rebar but still has some feel to it.

Thanks man! I appreciate it. I struggled squaring the DI for sure, but UB has been better for me. Think I will need to try the VF.

Thank you for the great explanation as always. I'm interested in hearing 6X TR Black to 6X or 6TX VF comparisons. I have TR Black in 6/7/8 and might make a change!

I've tested the 60 gram versions of both shafts as well and it's pretty much the same in regards to launch/spin/feel to their 70 gram counterparts except for weight difference.  If you're looking for something that launches a touch higher, easier to turnover and has more feel than the TR Black, VF is a good option.

I’m in the UB 6tx and it’s been the best shaft I’ve ever used. 112ish swing speed. I got a VF 6x to test and it’s just not working for me. I don’t always know how to describe shafts but the UB feels stable with that veryyyy subtle kick at impact for me. Sometimes I lose the UB left so I was looking for a little more stability. The VF feels more linear but I get a heavier feeling too even though I’m in the 6tx UB vs 6x VF. I struggle to turn it over and get high right spinners unless I really focus on turning it over. It’s definitely a me problem but the UB was plug and play for me while I think the VF would take some work for me to figure out. Will probably unload the VF

Why didn’t you go TX in the VF? Do you think that would be better for you?

6X was all I could get at the time.  Again I'm nowhere close to a shaft expert but from swinging the X it feels heavy and stiff which keeps my face open which results in more launch and more spin for me.  On paper I wouldn't think that would be the case but just my experience.  I don't have any issues squaring the UB 6tx.  I wouldn't buy a VF TX with that in mind but I hope to try it at some point.

@phizzy30 is pretty spot on. I love the TR Black cause I know it won't go left on me.  I thought the TR Blue kicks too much and the VF 6TX sits somewhere in the middle but I'd say closer to the TR Black.

If I feel loose and I'm swinging fast I like the TR Black more but if I'm just swinging smoothly I like the way the VF feels.

Roughly 116 SS on course and 125 on sims

Agree 100%  TR Black was good for me when my swing was on but misses were inconsistent when I was off or swing slowed down from getting worn out, lol.  VF is so much easier to load for this old man which is part of the reason why it's in the bag, lol.

Ordered 2 7Xs to go in my TSR2 3 and 7 wood, looking forward to seeing what they do in those

Still amazes me how much I love this shaft in driver, it's just beautiful.
