Fairway woods: Titleist TSR2/3 vs Stealth 2 +

Anyone compared the two? I’ve hit the 2 and 3 TSR’s but never hit the stealth 2 plus.

My 3 wood is a tee club 85% of the time when not using driver.

I have compared the TSR3 and the Stealth 2 Plus.  For me, the TSR3 won out based upon feel, consistent performance and overall look.  Both are awesome clubs, I would lean towards the one that works best for you.  I had Trackman data on my TSR3 and it checked all of the boxes from a yardage, spin. launch etc... and I used the TSR3 for the first several months of the season but got the itch to try the Stealth 2 Plus after watching all of the review videos.  For me I couldn't find the right setting - with the weight all of the way back it launched too high and with the weight forward it was a little volatile.   I never got on trackman to dial it in but gave it plenty of range and course time before I went back to the Titleist TSR3.  I'm guessing if I got with a fitter and got it dialed in, it would perform just as well as the TSR3.

TLDR - you can't go wrong either way so choose the one that you are the most comfortable with and fits your use cases best.

Had the tsr3 at first. Was great. Awesome second option tee club. Then I got wild hair to try the tsr2+ 14.5 as a mini driver. Lost feel, sound, and has me looking again.

I like that the stealth 2+ comes in a 18* 5w. Turn it all the way down and open to 16* and you have a bomber 4w setup

I hit the Stealth 2 Plus 5 wood today, weight in the forward position, stock Kai'li Red 75X, and holy crap ... that thing is an absolute bomber.

235 yards carry, 120 feet peak height, mid-3000s spin, landing softly, and straight to slightly right (I'm a lefty).

I had the TSR2 3 wood in the bag earlier this year and 235 was a really well-struck 3W for me, not a 5W. My G430 Max 3 wood goes a little shorter than that.

Open it up a little, put a stiffer-tipped shaft in to bring that peak height down just slightly, and that could be the only fairway wood I need. Or that and a 7W or something.

Has anyone played the Stealth 2+ 18* opened up to around 16.5? I ditched my 3/5 wood combo since I found myself really only using my 5 wood and would like to just have something in the middle that can do both to an extent.

My fitting experience was that when trying to make a pseudo 4 wood, going +1 with the 3 wood was easily superior to trying to reduce loft on the 5.

The issues with the 5 wood were that in order to keep the trajectory and spin low enough required moving the weight well forward, which destabilized it. It also destabilized it because the head size is rather small. As an accuracy oriented driver, where I can trust both a specific distance and accuracy, the 5 wood wasn’t nearly as useful as the SIM2 Max. The 3 wood with the weigh back at 15.75 loft, was very good.

Stealth 2 Plus 5w head arrived yesterday and I glued up the tip and immediately put it in play today. Set one click towards lower and weight all the way forward. I’m pretty confident this club has finally solved my top end shuffling and tinkering.

For years I played a Cobra Fly-Z+ 17.5 as a lone fairway wood, but have tried a bunch of different combinations the last two seasons. Most recently a TSR3 16.5* and a TSR2 21*. Liked them but didn’t love them and I realized I like just having one do it all fairway.

S2+ was great off the tee today. Strong ball flight. Was seeing the same distance as my TSR3. Even carried one 240 into a stiff breeze (250-260 carry seems to be the norm, which is perfect for me and the courses I play). I hit some off the deck at the range and was able to launch them high and low.
