I know you're asking avidswamp but fwiw I'm easily a half club longer in the CT.  I also feel similar about the greenside spin as you do, especially since I'm coming from the CSX, but after a couple of rounds I'm getting more comfortable and finding ways to put more spin on the CT when needed. After extensive testing both balls for a month now the CTX just seems to spin too much with the wedges for me (from the fairway), and I rarely hit a full wedge.  I also found the CT to be better in the wind...

I was getting a 1/2 more club on iron shots with CT.  Less spin, higher flight more distance is the equation.  Driver is a wash.  I do prefer the feel of CT over CTX.   Today I played CTX and played crummy.  I noticed how FIRM CTX felt on off center strikes.  I'm gaming Apex CB's which are punishing of mishits.   But, again, CTX is not all that firm around the greens, bc the cover is a little softer.  To me, they are both equally good.   If you need to knock off spin, go CT if you need spin go CTX.

Well I went through 2 CT balls, 2 ctx and 1 Bridgestone tour b x in 9 holes. None of the covers hold up very well!!

 

distance was similar. Tour b x had the highest spin, followed by CT

Yea I’m playing CBs also and man when you put a good swing on that CT I’m not sure there’s a better feeling.   I played on some pretty hard and quick greens Sunday.  Not trouble holding greens with the CT.

It's weird but I thought that the CT would fit me as someone that spins the piss outta irons, however the CTX is actually the ball for me.  CT just didn't quite spin enough.  They both are pretty much in the same ball park in terms of numbers with driver though.

Middle of the bag is absolutely where CT/CTX differentiate themselves from one another the most.

I never even tried at CT because I knew how low spin it is off the irons. I was given a sleeve of prototype Callaway balls in plain white packaging last summer by a buddy. The balls were stamped CSX *. Of course at that time I didn’t know that it was the prototype of what became the CTX. I really loved the ball because it was as long off the tee as the ‘22BX I was using, great in the wind, but spun more than the ‘22BX off my irons, and inside 100yds it spun more. I tried to get more then but wasn’t able. As soon as I tried the CTX I learned it was the updated version of the prototype ball I had tried.

Had the same exact thing happen. Straight up knuckle balls with irons. And I am a high spin player.

More curve?  CT doesn't spin as much so you may find it curving more than the CTX as a result.

I meant CTX was curving alot

maybe a bad day

but CT seems like the better ball for me.  Low spin driver, higher spin irons and wedge

I'm still satisfied with CTX.  I am enjoying the extra spin around the greens for sure.  I have noticed they can scuff more easily than PV1, but they are still quite playable for 18 holes.

I got 2 rounds in with the CT and had no issues with durability. I also get plenty of spins into the greens.

Well if anyone wants CTX spin and CT distance and feel you need to try the snell prime 3.0….  I will confirm next week on launch monitor but the spin was great and soft feel and it held up way better!
