2024 Callaway balls

Finally got a round in with the ctx.  It’s fantastic ball.  I played the ctx as my primary and also hits some shots with the ct and 24 tp5x during the round.  Theres was a 7-15 mph wind all round.

The ctx really shines on the ability to cut through the wind and has a very piecing flight.   It’s almost like the ball comes off heavy, fast and spin with zero ballon into wind.    The ct and tp5x also performed well, but the ct flies higher and caught a little more wind than the ctx and the tp5x was just a touch shorter off all clubs.

my only concern is the ctx has some cover scuffs after about 2/3 holes.  After 9 I tossed it out for a new one.  CT had the same provlem for me.  Tp5x is more durable and looks better after 18 than the callaway balls after 5 holes

Played CT for 9 holes today. Felt great. Did not spin as much as I had hoped/felt it should.

played the CTX on the back 9. Spun the way I expected but was about a club shorter for me. But it was also into the wind on everything on the back side.

neither ball moved much in the wind which was great. Will probably need to play another round to decide for sure.

CTX does everything I want, but it (and the CT) have just not held up for me.  The durability is just not there, and I am taking them out of play after one or two holes. That is really too bad because the CTX otherwise checks literally every box, but this game is expensive enough, without having to cycle through balls that frequently. I already have some V1X but I know that ball does not fair too good in the wind, so I ordered 4 dozen of the ProV1 to take advantage of the promo. I will give half to my father, but I think I will try the BX and TP5 next.  I I need a ball that will perform in the wind, have some spin with my irons, and good green side spin. Lower spin off the driver is also a plus.

BX may not be quite the longest (CT, TP5X, -Dash), but it checks all the boxes you listed.  Just nails in the wind and around the greens.

Anyone here tried out the CT or CTX who has a slower swing speed? Looking to replace my sons ball (ProV1X) with one of the Callaway ones...

Converted a few older/slower guys at my club off ball like Chrome Soft and AVX into CTX or V1x. All have come back saying the firmer feel took getting used to, but it was easier once they saw what they were giving up in the distance and stopping power department by playing a softer ball.

To be fair, I've noticed that shots out of greenside bunkers seem awfully rough on the CTX cover for some reason. Not enough to keep me from using it, but...

There's trade off on these Cally balls in my opinion. I've played both and have seen it with both. They perform. They are not the most durable ball. The yellow seems to hold up better than my whites in either. I'll take the trade off for now.

BX not likely to be as long as the CT offerings, though? For someone with my club head speed? BX as long as V1, at least?  I know there's truly only one way to find out, but you seem like you've tried everything under the sun! I also don't know how much there's to the whole softer compression for colder weather (other than feeling better on the club), but it was cold last Sunday, and my V1 iron shots seemed to still get the distance I wanted. Probably coincidence.

I agree 100%.  In my mind, if it's in the 40's, the firmer ball gets firmer and therefore loses it's ability to really compress, especially at slower swing speeds.  This is not scientific at all lol, but for whatever reason it checks out to me.

I've been testing a bunch this season but, CTX will most likely be the tournament gamer.  It does it all very well.

2nd time out with new CT CTX balls. I like the distance gain from both balls but that is about it. CT ball I love the feel of it BUT it can get knuckle on me. I also had a couple shots feel like they rolled up the face of my irons which was strange. I had two iron shots that also looked like they climbed up the ladder in mid to late flight. The ball itself felt light to me as well. CTX not as long as the CT for me. I hit a couple of big spinners with my short irons as well (hate that shot). Due to it spinning more I liked the control of it better than the CT but it is also 10 yards shorter than the the CT with driver and 5 yards shorter with irons. I pulled out my trusty CSXLS ball to compare on a few shots. LS ball felt heavier (I liked that) it also flew higher than both of the new balls. I wish the CT and CTX had a baby and it would be a great ball for me. I really want the new Cally balls to be my ball but right now they are out. I think I am going to stick with the CSXLS ball. I have been ball searching ever since Titleist switched the V and X up. Durability was a non issue for me but the CT was worn out after 18 and the CTX looked great. I played two balls all day yesterday at my club. I went off as a single so I could real world test them.

I'm guessing you liked the Gen 1 XLS even more than the Gen 2. It may not be huge, but you're part of a clear demographic that would be best served by that Left Dash/XLS1/'19 TP5x ball type.

See that is what is strange. I ddi not like the first gen nor do I like the left dash. Those two balls do not spin enough for me in the long irons and felt like rocks. The bridgestone BX ball does not spin enough for me either in long irons.

Now that I think about it a bit more, that makes sense. If CT is knuckley on irons for you, XLS1 and LD are both going to do the same.

Maybe BXS or Z Star Diamond?

Thanks will give them a try. I am tricky as I am such a picker of the ball. When I get to balls that spin more my wedges go straight up and spin way too much. I want the 15 Prov1x back, that was my fav ball of all time..

Since you like the CSX LS have you tried the left dash Pro V1X or the new ‘24 AVX. Those two will have different feels, but should definitely help reduce spin on your irons.

I bought mine off golfballs.com and they did not have the tripletrack. Not sure if it's still going on or not.

What information did ballnamic ask of you. I might put the information in there if I have enough just to see what it says for fun.

I'm in that boat.  I was rotating between the CSX LS Gen 1/left dash for awhile.  Dabbled with the Pro Plus and now I'm firmly all in for the CTX.  Amazing stopping power without it ballooning with eye popping ball speeds.

CTX and CT were a wash with driver and fairways.  CTX spins more with irons especially wedges.  Flip side is that ball speeds were higher across the board compared to left dash.  5 more yards of carry with irons with good stopping power.

I played my first round with my CTXs today in gusting winds.  I was concerned at first.  My concerns quickly went away.  This ball does everything I want it to do.  It was VERY stable in the wind today.  The extra spin around the green was noticeable and appreciated.  I am very pleased with this ball.  I did notice some of the durability issues noted.  My ball looked pretty rough by the end of the day.  I don’t think it is enough to not play them, as I usually retire a ball at the end of the round anyways.

I haven't talked about the wind yet but I played a round last week with 12-15 constant and 20 gusts. The CT held it's line really well, especially into the wind.
