From reading your post, I think you already know which one you like, but those TP5’s do look cool sweet.

I wish it was as straightforward as that!

The TP5x really does well for me off the irons, I'd assume lower spin, which is why I am looking at both of these balls.

Driver = Callaway Smoke-Ai Max-D

3 wood = Callaway Smoke-Ai Max HL

3 Hybrid = Tour Edge Exotics C722
Irons = 4-PW Miura KM 700
Gap Wedge = Miura HB 50*

Sand Wedge = Taylormade MG2 56*

Putter = LAB DF3

Ball = TP5x pix

Tested the CT vs the Tour BX this morning a bit closer, the CT for me had 200-400 less spin than the Tour BX just on the test test across most clubs but the biggest stand out was the ball speed the CT had over the BX especially on the driver, the CT today I maxed out at 172mph and the Tour BX I maybe maxed out at 168 possibly 169mph and that's just leaving distance on the table if everything else from me is the same.

No CTX would spin too much for me I don't really want to buy a dozen since I know it wouldn't work for me.

Great info against the bx thanks

I think that's what most have seen I believe @Avidswampthing66 said something similar a while back. The BX just couldn't keep up speed wise especially with the CT and the TP5X being absolute missile with ball speed this year vs everyone else. But seems like for speed Tier S is: CT, TP5X and Left Dash where the BX would probably fall into Tier A.

Agree.  2-4 mph ball speed difference doesn't seem like much but it is out on the course.  That's the difference between carrying a fairway bunker and having a better lie/chance at the green for the approach shot or having to hit it outta that bunker with who knows what kinda lie in it.

I'm sure if my swing was more consistent right now it could be closer, or could even be a bigger difference but I'd definitely want the fastest ball off the tee I can get and it's not like I had any worry of the CT falling out of the sky, I think I was sitting between 2800-3200rpm with the driver today which is a touch high but extremely controllable so sign me up honestly.

This ^^^^^^^^^^
This is the whole reason I quit playing blades and play my combo set of i210/G700 irons. Even just a yard or two here there can save strokes over the long-haul. 2 to 4 more miles an hour of ball speed is a huge deal! Can be the difference between shooting 70 and 75 pretty easily.

Dang it @MattM97 I may need to revisit CT now!  I do believe it was longer than CTX for me.  It was just a few yards tho.  Sometimes, we just want to hit it further and come in with less club.  May be worth sacrificing a little spin around the greens. Jimmy Fallon Thank You GIF by The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon

The CTX does seem long too but for me it's the iron spin of the CTX that I don't like, can't have balls falling a club short of the green or spinning off.

I'm a comically low spin player and was a tester of the CT and CTx. To be honest i noticed very little difference on a trackman with clubs like 5-9 iron.

Where i noticed the biggest difference was in harder to elevate and spin clubs like driving iron and 3-wood. The CTx gave me better launch and higher spin (which is what i need)

I hit probably 300-400 shots with 3-wood this winter using B-XS, ProV1x , TP5x , ProV, Chrome soft and a couple of others, and no joke the CTx was responsible for probably the longest 8-9 shots with it. I hit one 286 total on a trackman. I don't think i've been higher than 273 with any other ball

The difference is slightly higher launch (~14 versus 12.5-13) and higher spin (2400-2500 versus 2300~)

CTx is a really good ball, if it's what you need

All of my testing has been on trackman since it's winter here. I've done some wedge shots and the CTx gave me a bit more spin. I can't remember my numbers in detail though. For wedges i was really waiting to test them outside. On full swings i'm not that picky over a few hundred RPM....for short pitches i'm very interested but haven't tested that yet

Totally get it... I am such a picker with high launch that ever since the PROV andPROVX balls switched I have been lost. I finally settled on the Chrome Soft LS ball but that one is gonzo now. I tried the BX last year and could not get my longer irons to spin enough, it was perfect with wedges though.

I've started to learn a lot more about my game the past few years. Always knew i was low launch but i'm hilariously low spin now. I can't get a low spin driver head much over 2K . I could barely hit the G430 LST for example when i tested it.

I launched my 3 wood at 12 degrees with 2100-2200 rpm.

I'm switching to blades with high launch mid spin shafts and using X balls now.

I don't swing slow, i am 105 with driver. But i play everything a little back in my stance and hit low draws

Callaway rep gave me a sleeve of CT and CTX a month or so back - ProV1 player here.

The CTX is a bit too firm for me, and I simply didnt like how it felt off the putter. CT intrigued me as I prefer a medium ball.

Finally the courses opened two weeks ago out here in Fort Wayne, and I have exclusively been playing the CT and absolutely love it. Hops off the face, spins exactly as needed, doesnt fly too high at all either.

I am a big fan.

CTX all the way.  It's comes off lower with spin.  Sounds like it would match up well with your high launch and what sounds like shallow swing.  It's the ball that's going to be my gamer for the year.  CT could work for you as well because it's supposed to be very similar to the CSX LS but with softer feel.  It's lower spin than the CTX with irons however.  I was given a sleeve of the CT by my head pro and found it to do exactly that.

CTX will be my tournament ball for 2024 and CT will be my weekend game fun ball.  I really enjoy CT on the course bc it has the truly long ball in it.   Just goes miles and it feels pretty good.  I saw a larger dispersion circle against CTX during testing and I'm guessing that xtra spin on CTX holds lines a little better for my iron swing.

2 rounds with the Chrome Tour now and will add another today.  It is a fantastic ball.  It’s flying so well off my irons and it is stopping really fast on the greens.

I'm also CSX LS player and was disappointed when they dropped it because it was such a good ball for me. I tried the CT (after hearing it was the replacement for the LS), and it was not a good ball for me. It was, for me, super low spin. Unless I hit my driver perfectly, the ball would just fall out of the sky. In fairness, I hit my driver with low spin and +6 AOA (2,000-2,300 rpm), so that may have been an issue, but I hit the LS really well. I gave my remaining CTs to some buddies (also low single digits) and neither could spin it enough to make it work. I suspect that if your driver CHS was 110+, or you were fighting too much spin it could work.

So then I tried the CTX and that thing is a monster for me. +10-12 yards on decently struck drives for three rounds now. Irons are perfect. It is a super ball for me.

Does the CTX have that great "shot" in it like the CSX had in it?  The half wedge shot that you could flight low and had a ton of spin in it? The one that Rahm loved so much?

I’m getting more excited to try the ctx.  I liked the chrome soft x, it just spun to much of irons for me it left me a half club short on most shots, a full club short of is mishit it a bit and kicked up the spin.

It absolutely does. In my testing it spins more on 60yd wedge shots than any other ball I’ve tested in recent years.

I finally received my Chrome Tour X (CTX). Yes, I'm the guy with the yellow soccer ball. My favorite balls that I've used were the Nike Resin Tour Black / Platinum (durability was ehh), Bridgestone BXS (original model), Snell MTB / X (Not prime) and as aways, 2021 Prov1X if I grabbed from my local "2nds supplier" for a buck a ball. I'm hoping these perform like you guys said. It sounds like they're pretty mid flight high spin which I dig. And I like the yellow hi vis versions.
