Nothing was out of stock (though the order was quite custom). They said two weeks when I ordered.

Got news yesterday that they had shipped, am getting them today (woohoo!!!!). So - ordered 2/16, receiving them 3/6 ... close to three weeks.

I ordered around the same time and still no update from PGASS 😞

I ordered through Dallas Golf - they are usually really good and responsive about customer service. I asked the guy to keep me updated (wanted to make sure I was working at my home office when they arrived - didn't want expensive clubs in a conspicuously large box sitting unattended on my porch all afternoon). The guy at Dallas (not Mizuno) is the one that sent me the tracking number yesterday.

If it has been close to three weeks for you, I'd probably drop PGASS a line and ask them what's up. (I'm not sure if the distributors get push-notified by Mizuno when clubs ship, or they have to manually check.)

UPDATE. Just arrived at my door. Gotta say, these are some of the most drop dead gorgeous irons I've seen in quite some time (pictures don't do them justice). Of course, however, it is absolutely pouring rain. I think that must be one of those secret, mysterious, cosmic RoG - whenever clubs arrive on your doorstep, the universe will always arrange for it to rain. And (as a subsection to the rule) the longer you've been waiting for the clubs, the harder it will be raining. 🤣

Anyone better players order their 245's weak?  I ordered the 245's for my 4 and 5 irons (I play the 241 blades) and didn't want to see any weird super-high launching results.  I struggled between 1° and 2° weak but I wanted them to combo better with my 241's.  They are so strong that I felt I should go 2°.

Yes, this question is very golfer-specific, but I still look for thoughts.  I only user the better player tag because I prefer to hear from golfer that compress the ball.  I know this iron can be aspirational for some.

Much appreciated.

Alot of us have ordered them 1° or 2° weak. Some just a few clubs, some the whole set.

If worried about bounce the 225 are 1* lower bounce in longer irons and 2* lower in mid-short irons.

I demoed the 245 7 iron today on the recommendation of a fitter friend.  Absolutely loved them.  Problem is, they re up against the Forged Tec X irons.  Demoed both irons in the exact same shaft and was really having trouble deciding between the two.  They both look and feel great...maybe an edge to the 245 on feel.  I need the distance and forgiveness.  Any thoughts?

Resale value alone would be a reason to get the Mizunos over any Cobra.  That and higher quality forging

I play the 225s and the one thing I'll say is that I wish the 9i and PW were hollow like the rest of the set. Without a doubt I hit them less consistently than the rest of the set.

The techy make up of the 225 are LONG and forgiving. The 9i and PW are almost blade like.

If you're looking for forgiveness, keep that in mind with the 245s. I do think they got an upgrade in the 9i and PW, but they won't play exactly the same as the hot Mid irons.

Has anyone compared these head to head with the cobra king tours?

Yes I own both. Both are great clubs but gaming the 245s due to the extra distance.

Cobra has better feel but Mizzy is more forgiving.

I'd say the feel of the 245 is still better. Totally subjective, but it's the best feeling hollow body out there.

Great information!!!  Appreciate all the responses and details.  If I hold up health wise and can afford it, I am due for an iron fitting on May 14th and will be pitting the 245 against the Forged Tec X in both standard loft and 2* weak loft.  They will have the same shafts.

The difference in the above is the lofts between the 245 and Forged Tec X even with the 2* weak head.  Has anyone strengthened the lofts on the 245 by 1* or 2* without digging?  Would you recommend that for more distance or is the distance and forgiviness good enough?

Thanks!

I play a 225 5 and 6 iron at standard loft, and 223's 7-G strong 1.  With the 1-2* bounce increase on the 24x's, that's more bounce than I play now.  I have no problems with digging unless it's a crazy lie - though I'm not steep [relatively average at 2-3* down mid irons, 4-6* down PW].

Long story short, it should be no problem going a degree or two strong on any of the 24x series with the bounce increase of this year's models.  Unless you're SUPER steep, but you're probably not a Mizuno fan then 😅

I tried the 245s out against what I've always felt were pretty forgiving MP20 HMBs recently. 6 iron in the HMBs were good enough, but the 245s were a much tighter front to back dispersion and a slight distance and ball speed gain. Launch was up at 21-22° which was a bit concerning, but not the end of the world. Managed to flatten it a little as I went, and a slightly heavy shaft helped the launch but not the dispersion.

Tried the 243 for fun and when I hit it well, WOW! However, the less well-struck would cost me on the course too much.

I've got a distance gap fitting in my irons with a pro soon, as the 245 lofts are frustratingly strong (7 iron at 30° bearable, but PW at 43° gives me significant loft gap issues at the bottom of the bag.

Once that's done, I'm trying some Miura heads and the T150 as a comparison to the 245s and then we'll see.

So what's the verdict. Now I'm intrigued. I hit the 243s and the 245s today --and got exactly the difference you would expect. Anxious to hear where you landed. I currently game T150s. I think the 243s are longer and feel better.
