Hopefully there is no confusion around the paint/sticker on the face of the woods like Hideki had in 2022.

What is the purpose of that marker line?  I've put sharpie marks on the ball to gauge strike, but not a mark on the face of the club.

Must be a Cobra tour van thing to dial in face contact, length, or maybe swing weight. Think Ricky had some on his driver pics from a few weeks ago too.

I always get confused on the lengths on the shaft vs the total length. Is Gary Woodland playing his 3W at 42" total or just the shaft at 42"? Or does it matter since it screws into the head and terminates almost at the base of the heel?

I believe that is cut length of shaft per pga43

If that were the case though then that driver is nearly 46" playing length? I don't feel like that's right for Gary as someone with his mechanics.

The context was for Hideki and maybe Fowler.  Comment back in February.

I can see different length conventions for different players.  Good catch!

Interesting Gary going from AJ LS to the DS X. Wonder is the DS is ultra low spin or X a little more forgiving.  Hope he has a good tment.  Class act.

Rickie also switched from the LS to the X recently.

It's so they can see the face at address. Rickie said when they went to the black on black finish on the new drivers, he couldn't see the face at address anymore and had a harder time aligning it.

He started with sharpie on the face and later had it laser engraved. Gary saw Rickie's driver and liked the line so he had it done to his too.

I have been looking for a Cobra seven wood head with those rails for a long time. Interesting it's a 21.5 with -1.5 setup and it's 19. I guess they digitally measured it at 20.5 with no adjustment which would work for me. or 1/2 degree open even better at 20. Probably a slightly lighter and more flexible shaft than Gary though! Just slightly. (Great detail on the setup on these clubs. Thanks!)

interesting shafts on the wedges.  What does the 10 mean?  tour v 125 with 10 steps?  what else could 10 represent?  i'm really curious.  I thought it was wild he went to hi-rev 125's in all 3 wedges recently.  Those shafts are very soft feeling to me, especially for someone swinging rebar in the irons. maybe these are a little softer version of the tour v wedge shaft?  (but stiffer than the hi rev?)

edit: i've got a new guess: these are tour v 120x shafts with .610 butt diameter that weight sort closer to 125.  🙂

edit 2: this is a prototype for the 610 wedge shaft, hence the beat up shaft labels.  (final guess)

Just to add another guess...  The Tour V that we know was originally a prototype developed for Phil Mickelson based on the standard Tour shaft. It was called Tour "V2" since it was the second version of the Tour shaft. The 2 was eventually dropped and the retail shaft was called Tour V.  https://www.golfwrx.com/68923/tech-talk-mickelsons-kbs-tour-v2-shafts/

My guess is this is an updated version of the Tour and maybe the final version of the prototype that was on here a couple years ago. No idea what the 10 means. Hoping it's a HT shaft!

could the tour v10 simply be a tour V 120x with 5 grams of thicker walls towards the butt end?  It would probably end up slightly softer than the tour v 125 if it has a thicker butt end and the same weight?  Seems like KBS has a formula and seems to stick to it.

Looks like 11 steps in the wedge shafts pictured leaning against the bag, so I don’t think “10” represents anything to do with the step pattern. The OG 610 was 125 as well (S+), so it doesn’t seem logical that it would be weight related either.

Just hazarding a guess, but it wouldn’t be a stretch for me to think it was a Tour V “wedge” shaft. Basically, a 610 with a stiffer butt/mid + softer tip, a la the original Tour V (compared to the Tour). The nomenclature is strange, but when is it not when it comes to shafts anymore? 610 V would have made sense enough though, right? If they’re still prototyping, the name is likely to change anyway.

This is a complete line of iron shafts according to a few social media posts.  So changing the name makes sense even if its just a 610 in iron shafts along with different flexes and weights.
