if Paige follows the old fundamental of setting up your pick this never happens.  Look at the space between Richards and Paige B. She forced Richards to extend to set the pick. If she makes a simple jab step towards the bucket and then goes right off Richard’s shoulder there is no room for the defender to get through. 
 

Another lost fundamental. Watch the great “off the ball” movement guys and see how they come off picks. This is on Paige as well. 

You have to help your screener.

Hard to pay more when the WNBA is losing millions of $ every year. If it weren't subsidized by the NBA, it wouldn't exist.

The UConn/Iowa game was the most watched basketball game ever on ESPN

High quality basketball so far. Some nice finishes around the hoop. 

 

One of the Iowa players had a step through and finish a few minutes back, I think it was Kate Martin, that was a pretty nice play. 

 

Don't want to beat this to death but it's so different now. These girls are so legit as players.

Well. I haven’t watched the game ( it’s recorded ). But wapo news notifications just told me my Gamecocks won!   Not surprised. No shooter can get 40-45 every night.

It's not that you comment ... It's what you comment. The same things non-basketball say all the time. There is no clandestine plan to make Clark win. Good players get fouled and go to the line. 

 

The great team beat the great player today. South Carolina is well-coached, big and talented. Might be one of the best team's ever. All credit goes to them, they deserved to win.

I actually agree with most of that. Great team did beat a great player. And great players get calls. If you don’t believe that maybe you shouldn’t question other’s experiences. Right out of the gate the push off was obvious, the commentators said so also. No call. And this is a staple of her offensive game, all season. The three touch fouls called on top on the SC defender when CC had the ball. Those aren’t called anywhere, at any time.

Good game - too many, too big, real good - probably what every other team that played them said this season, lol. 
 

Incredible season by our Hawks - they’ve had good teams and Bluder really is an underrated coach (other than by coaches) but the last two seasons took me all the way back to when C. Viv showed up. 
 

I thought the game was well called - O boards were and were expected to be a killer and Iowa needed to be almost perfect on offense. 
 

SC so much deeper - it showed in the 4th quarter - U Conn took a lot out of our women. Lots of screens to bounce off. 😉

There was one - but seriously, until the last three games the defense of choice was to come out and try to beat her up this year - she got way more than she ever gave out, IMO. 
 

Last two teams had some good defenders who wore her down a bit - good for them. But she played great and SC just too much for anyone. 
 

I give her a lot of credit for knocking off the obvious demonstrations - she’s always talking, lol, but more focused the last 3-4 games.

I agree. She is incredible. And she really did change the attitude. I have zero doubts she is a great kid.  Listening to her interviews and especially watching her interact with the young fans. Much like Edey (other than his post game interview comment the other night,😂 I think that caught people off guard), in that you are correct she does get more than she gives out. But I’ll die on that sword that she gets a lot of iffy calls as well. Much like Edey will tomorrow night. But that’s really irrelevant, she’s been so much fun to watch. 
 

I think that’s how you have to defend her, athletic and physical. Make her really work for her shots.  And I think you see the results late in the game. Lot of shots coming up short when the legs start to go. 
 

Bluder does a nice job with them, she gets a lot out of the kids, and I think they have a top recruit coming in for next year. Lot of points to replace. 
 

Would have been nice to see someone knock off SC, but man they are deep. And big. And talented.
