It's good to be The King!

No idea why retired players (unless they mean Champions Tour and there was some real and strategic reason to date nobody knows about to reward them) are getting a nickel (that's $75m they could have saved or further spread out, IMO) but nice they were able to come up with some structure to provide some money, however called, and of course it wouldn't be equal.

Gotta keep the big Alphas of the Tour happy.  They're the ones who make or break the PGA Tour.  It's comical some of the posts I've read here lately implying the Tour is in trouble because of decreased TV ratings and LIV yada yada.  The Tour is in a great place and flush with cash.

I think if you’re Jack, Trevino, Watson, etc the “fairness” argument is: you guys just sold something that I was a big part of building, where’s my share?

Legally, no idea what claim they specifically might have made. But surely they could have sued for something and this may have been a preemptive move to prevent that. Even just keeping the legends on-side has some value.

Hahaha what a joke. Tigers going to be on the couch or the champions tour in several years, JT has been poo poo along with Spieth in comparison to Scottie. And Rory I can see he’s been the parrot for Jay for some time now

Looks like Phil was right all along. Scottie should be getting a higher price tag that the four of the top earners

I’m all in favor of some equity going to guys such as Lee Trevino, Jack Nicklaus, Tom Watson, and so forth.

His accident was in Feb of 2021. Has he played in 1 full pga tour event since then (not counting majors) ? And every year he gets most pip money and now an extra 100 mil.

Wow, that's just amazing to me. I know he was the greatest to play the game but if he's not capable of playing anymore why keep giving him millions and millions.

Why did LIV offer $800M to Tiger when they knew he could not play golf very often? He has influence on the younger players like McIlroy & Scheffler, and so many others. If LIV got Tiger on board 2 years ago, they would have gotten all the younger players to follow him as well.

Having a feeling this money comes with some strings attached like Tiger et al being the face and voice of the future Tour-a good thing obviously.  When, where or if the LIV players come back they will be "Tainted".  😁

I know Monahan got a lof heat but it's looking like he pulled off a "Crimson Sky" move.  For all you Shogun fans.

Interest in TW far eclipses that of anyone else.

More interest in TW DFLin the Masters  than Scheffler winning

And Rory? 🤣

8 yr vesting schedule, yada yada yada....

The money is nothing compared to LIV.  But the guys needed to get something.  Monahan will forever look like an idiot for not taking the Saudi's calls years ago.

They gave him $12 million in PIP money last year for promoting his sponsors on social media so don’t see how this is a surprise

“Equity Investment”.  As my dad would have said, “Equity Shmekwity”.

I put the over/under at 3 months until we see the “Diversity Investment” and the “Inclusion Investment” roll out for the behind the scenes tour employees.

I’m guessing fear of lawsuit was not a motivation.
