Tomorrow on ranges across the planet people will be practicing transitions whose duration can be measured with a sundial.

A percentage of them will have an epiphany that they’ve found the secret and everyone will be struggling more than usual 2-3 weeks from now because their sequence will be worse than before.

Very funny. I just heard on a podcast that any pause is awful as it gets the golfer into hit the ball now mode instead of being an athlete.

All "tips" are welcome. Instruction not desired.

The ability to sequence properly goes down significantly.  Young and Hideki do well.  I maintain they’d be better.

I’ stood there on the range about 10 feet away when he was working on reducing the time of the pause.  There’s a video of him not pausing and adding 10 mph on driver and still hitting it straight.

And the Scottie shuffle…can’t forget that.

Matter of fact…..I will start a Monte challenge!

on here or on your instagram show us this wonder swing.  The one where you take some of the best bits that pros made work.

And the numbers would be nice.  Let’s see you combine the

Cam Young pause

Furyk backswing

Scottie Shuffle

Duval/Annika head eye movement…

Guys…what else do we need?
Trevino pre swing shuffle

Player walkthrough

Jack flying elbow

And something from Spagnolo would be a nice touch! 🤭

Not really joking…this kinda sounds like my natural move. Guess maybe I shouldn’t have been fighting all these moves all these years

If you actually believe Young is “out of sync” then you’re using superficial aesthetics to judge sequencing and don’t actually know what proper sequencing is. Unless that’s part of the joke since a Ford pickup is infinitely more practical and usable than a heavy, gaudy Rolls Royce. If that isn’t the joke then it’s still pretty funny, just for very different reasons. 😆

We have every shot of his 59 available on Youtube, if you pick out his ball striking misses and break them down; you should be able to spot why he had those misses that stopped him from shooting any lower. Make the bad swings less bad which is what we all should strive to do with our own games.

I'd like a series on how to do the cam young pause with Scotty shuffle.

After setting up like Tony Finau, taking it back like Matt Wolff, and Gordon Sargent's hips in transition.

Go back to bed grandpa. How many times have you shot 59 or contended in majors ?

Not pertinent…..what is pertinent is his lack of understanding.

I don't totally agree with the statement that brought on this response, but why is there always one guy that has to respond this way?

Most of the guys who win majors don't have the first clue in teaching the golf swing. Thank God that's not a requirement to teach or some of the best instructors in the world would be out of jobs.

That poster has been wrong about everything he posted to include denying physics.

Despite being corrected on everything and how it’s wrong he continues to post bad information.

It's more about a guy whose constantly throwing out swing analysis based on his self-taught swing & feels and who constantly tries to question valid data presented here. No biggie if you're not in this section enough to know his M..O. but I assure you he's earned the derison that comes his way.

Young's swing is not what's cost him in terms of breaking through. He's below average scrambling and putting. He blisters it off the tee and is positive strokes gained approach, neither of which indicate a poorly sequenced, out of sync swing.

another guy with a slight pause at the top is Patrick Rodger’s. Tore it up in college, beat Tigers winning record in college I believe but hasn’t won on tour yet. Pretty sure he is a pure ball striker as well but haven’t ever looked at the stats.

I followed him one year at a tournament and tried to hit balls the next day and I found myself not intentionally using his tempo with that slight pause just from watching him hit shots all day.
