Indeed.

Those members and moderators who drove off Mat and Gachet (respectively) ought to be ashamed. I know this is a huge community, but it definitely lost something when those two guys quit the site.

They were harassed by a number of other posters, and got tired of it and left.

I am not sure why mat362 stopped posting, probably got bored of all the trolling but The Gachet basically got accused by someone very prominent on the site of using photos without crediting the original owner, got a bit heated and there was an attempt to resolve it with the owners contacting him directly and it seemed that it was cooled off and it was stated that the Gachet would continue posting but alas I think he was a touch peaved and stopped. This is all just from my memory so please correct me if I am wrong.

I think it´s been a great shame that mat562 and the gachet have been treated in a very disrespectful manner within this community. For many of us who idolized Faldo, Seve, Lyle, Olazabal etc., this was THE THREAD. I wish we could enjoy their posts in the future, but that is probably asking a bit too much.

I basically quit this site when this thread went dead. So it's nice to see a revival.

I don't think the Edel clubs worked out as they're no longer listed and Sir Nick was still using Taylor Made the last time I saw him on-line. Check out the video below. Faldo is practicing his driver with Fanny, about 01:20 in, keep an eye out for Nicky Price and Elkington too. Not great quality but the content is fantastic. Golf looked so gentle back then!

I am a huge Ryder Cup fan and I found this thread nearly by accident, but after reading some of the posts I think someone may be able to help me here.

The thing is that I am trying to find people that still has VHS tapes of old Ryder Cup broadcasts (from 1985 to 1997, more or less). I have some stuff myself but getting footage from those years is difficult...
