Well since that purple and green beauty is mine, i LOVE it! Lol to me, if you don't make a custom putter unique then there's no point. May as well bag a OTR Scotty then. But to each their own. I'm gonna have no problem bagging it!

Hello,

On the Depth of the Face Milling, several factors in play, for many the number one being USGA and R&A Rules. There is a combined width and depth rule for grooves for putters (different than for other clubs). You can’t go too deep if over a certain width (gap). And you can’t go too wide if over a certain depth.

Our Aggressive Vertical Milled Grooves (VMG) pattern is confirming, and near the max combination, espcially in the middle of the face / pattern. VMG grooves also have cutting tool limitations since the cutting tools are basically “V” shaped. (going deeper makes the spacing wider). So we’re really maxed out with those.

We also have our Thread Milled Grooves (TMG) With those grooves we modified the tools so that we could go wider without going too deep, to stay within the Rules. And for us, wider is more important than deep with putters. We’re not worried about lots of wet grass getting between the ball and club face. We’re trying to make less surface area for a softer feel (quieter sound), more friction and better roll). So our TMG spacing (pitch) changes the number of grooves per inch and the width (or spacing or gap) between each plateau. TMG-16 are conforming, very wide and very soft feeling.

This MACHINE is a First Of, 1 of 3 Prototype M12 Converter in 303 Stainless with a 303 Stainless Skeletonized Ball Nosed End Mill Cut Medium Long Plumber Neck and a 303 Stainless Mini Megalodon Flange.

 

The Head, Hosel and Flange have all been finished in our new Custom Firethorn Finish.

 

The Medallion on this MACHINE is a Custom Mokume Gane Logo Medallion finished in Dave’s Torched Hot Sauce Patina Finish.

I hope everyone had a great Weekend! I wanted to share with you a Custom MACHINE ART Putter that Dave just finished building for a Customer.

 

This MACHINE features a Custom 1018 Carbon M20 Converter Head with a 1018 Carbon Skeletonized Pill Cut Plumber Neck, A Copper Spacer and a Custom Blade Back Flange.

 

The Blade Back Flange on this MACHINE was Custom Trimmed to give the same width as the MACHINE M10 with the Spacer Installed. This Flange also featured Hand Filed Multi-Faceted Bumpers.

 

The Head of this MACHINE features Custom Hand Hammered Peening.

 

The Head, Hosel and Flange have all been finished in our Hand Torched Oil Quenched Finish.

 

To hit the Target Head Weight of 360 Grams, Dave Milled Custom Pinstripe Pill Cuts in the Sole.

 

The Connection Weights have been copper Plated to match the Spacer and the Medallion.

What do you call this finish? Whatever it is, it really seems to bring out the wood-grain qualities of the Damascus steel, which is a look I've always thought would be interesting. Very nice saturation and hues on this one - excellent work!

This MACHINE features a Custom 1018 Carbon M20 Converter Head with a 1018 Carbon Beefy Back Flange and a Single Bend Shaft Over Stub Hosel with a 1Degree Delta Mod Installed to give 4 Degrees Actual Loft.

 

The Sole features a Custom Aggressive hand milled Tri-Plane sole.

 

The Medallion on this MACHINE is a Custom Black Anodized Alloy Medallion with our Birdie Logo Engraved.,

 

The Head and Flange have been been finished in a Satin Nickel Plate Finish.
