Thanks for the update. I'm interested to see how these patina. I have a raw putter coming as well. You mentioned it has been 3 rounds. Do you wipe down the putter before it goes in the bag? Before the bag goes _____ (where ever you store it)?

The only time I wipe it down is before I put the head cover on after each green. The second round I played was early in the morning after a rain and I would say a majority of the rust came from that round. Putter feels great and I think I putt well with it.

Awesome. Mine should patina pretty quickly. A majority of my rounds are dew sweepers.

What if we don't like the rusty look developed on these raw putter heads, what options do we have? I guess my question is it possible to restore the heads back to the raw (and metal) look?

Just pay extra and gave a finish applied to keep it from rusting.

My guess is a decent metal polish will clean it right up. Then you could clear coat it or apply a sealant or wax to preserve its current state.

How long can a putter rust before the integrity of the metal is affected? I look at putters like those used by Geoff Ogilvy and think the rust must surely have an effect on performance...

Technical question, what does an M2A with a double fat nibble back flange weight? It's a little heavy for me and I am looking for some flange options to get the head weight around 370 grams. Both the head and flange are stainless.

I believe my bongo back is in the 100 gram range and my double fat back is in the 85 gram range. Ultimately, Dave and crew can dial in the weight to whatever you'd like. I'm assuming you could send in your flange and they could adjust the weight with pill cuts on the bottom, or you could purchase more flanges than you could possibly need like I've done.

Hey Everyone,

Thanks for all the comments, questions, posts and help from owners and dealers (that's you Jimmy!!).

We successfully got my son settled in for college, and I'm driving back cross country and should be back in the shop by Friday. Thanks again for everyone's help and understanding while I've been traveling.

On the flange weights, in addition to custom milling to weight (pill cuts, bongo cuts, deep bite, or nibble cut, etc.) we also offer different materials. For instance, Peanut's flange is aerospace aluminum, which can be plated and a patina put on to match a copper head for instance. Of course there are also four adjustable weight ports as well. So lots of options to get to a desired weight.

Earlier questions regarding rust on the raw finish. It's really a personal preference. If you like the idea of the metal rusting natural, that's great. If you want to limit the rust you can oil or wax it occasionally to impede further rust once it gets to a level you like. If you want to remove some rust (it's rusted too much for your liking) you can use steel wool or fine (320 grit and finer) sanding sponges or Scotchbrite pads. The course the grit and the more you sand, the more you will scratch the metal though and smooth over the mill marks. For those that don't want any of the above, our standard finishes and plating options may be better for you. I'll post more in the Limited Edition RAW Special thread with some more photos of the putters that are going out and some of the experimental models we've done at the shop.

Seriously?! lol. You should visit Eddie. FYI, it's happening here every day. Over double shifts, 14-15 hours a day, six to six and a half days a week, 355 days a year. x 21 years! No kidding.

Order tables #1 and #2 shown below. That's not showing work tables 3, 4 and 5. Or the milling station carts 1, 2, 3 and 4. Or Spa carts 1-3. And I can't show you what's on work tables #'s 6, 7 or 8 or our R&D room….. But I can tell you they are some of the most awesome products, for some of the very coolest customers I've ever done work for, ever in my 27+ years in golf.
