What's the best tip you've ever received?

Sorry, that should be "what's the best GOLF tip you've ever received?", don't really want to hear about your dad telling you to think about baseball as the best tip so far.

 

A couple come up for me

1) don't move your head till you hear the ball hit the bottom of the cup when putting

2) when chipping - think "strike a match" to avoid deceleration

For overall golf I'd have to say picking a target in front of your ball for alignment has been the most used tip I've ever been given.

I got a five hundred dollar gaming chip when I worked at the Barona Golf Resort/Casino .....

 

At a High roller tounament I told the guy I caddied for to stop cupping his wrist at the top and it cured his slice so he hooked me up.

You've already made the shot! Visualize the shot. Can you see it happening? Can you feel it on the practice swing? Then you've already made it. Just do it again.

I see a lot of "don'ts" here. To not do something, you have to visualise what you shouldn't do.

 

My favorite full swing tip is to maintain my spine angle & my best putting tip is to keep my right shoulder still through out the stroke. Both work wonders for me. Other thoughts I have are"Right palm down at impact", "keep the knuckles facing the ground from pocket to pocket" and "toe line, heel line, toe line, heel line" the latter being a sequence to swing the club through.
