GolfWRX Members Special Opportunity ***Ends 5pm EST Tomorrow*** to try New Footjoy SYNR-G Shoes!!!!

Recommended Posts

First off, thank you to Footjoy and GolfWRX for this opportunity.

Secondly, I have used FootJoys in the past and have been extremely impressed. I golf almost 150 rounds per year and wear them out pretty fast. I would love to see if the new Synr-G line would hold up to the test.

Thirdly, they're just plain SICK looking! Looks like they would have some serious gripping power and extremely comfortable.

I wore FootJoy shoes exclusively from 1989 to 2006. I always enjoyed the styles of shoes, comfort was never a problem, and Acushnet was always very fair if there was a problem.

Then I turned 40.

My doctor told me that I had to get more exercise and less stress into my life. I had a heart attack when I was 39 (stress related...not weight, 5-8, 175). I started walking for all of my rounds of golf and as time progressed, I found that my Footjoy shoes were hurting the bottoms of my feet. They just did not seem to have enough cushion for the pounding on my feet. While visiting a friend in Virginia, I found that I had forgot my shoes and borrowed a pair of his Adidas 360's. I walked 18 and had no foot pain whatsoever. I proceeded to buy 2 more pair of 360's and 3 pair of 360 II's this year. Foot pain is no longer an issue. The only problem with Adidas shoes is the cheap leather that they use on the uppers. They tend to crack and look awful after about 4 months. I value appearance and know that this is not an issue with Footjoy due to the fine leather that they use on their uppers.

I was waiting to see these shoes on the shelf as they look like they may be more up to par with cushion than my last Footjoy shoes (Dry Joy's, I.C.E., and Classic Tours). This would be a great opportunity to move back into the Footjoy fold.

Thank you for your consideration

Thanks to FootJoy and WRX!

What perfect timing to replace some worn but still comfortable Dry Joys! I'd be honored to provide feedback to other members on the performace and comfort of these shoes. Minnesota provides a wide variety of testing conditions including, golfing on ice, in a dome, in a heated trailer, and my trips south.

I have only been golfing a couple of years but in that time, I have developed a passion for the game! Being that I am 6 ft 5, it is difficult to find equipment that fits me perfectly. From what I am hearing, these shoes will not only be very comfortable for the average size golfer but for the above average size golfer as well! I would love to try these out so that I could give an honest review from a different perspective. Thank you

I've been a FJ guy since I started playing golf. While the season ends for some up here in the Northeast, I do my best to extend the season as long as I can. From frozen courses to heated range bays, I try to get out as much as I can. It also helps to have family down in Florida to keep the season going for me.

But to further plead my case, this would be one less golf related purchase that I need sneak into the house. Dropping a new club in my bag is pretty easy but the wife would definitely notice some sweet new spikes like these. However, if they were for official research purposes, I might have a chance to avoid the grilling and I can always use another reason in my arsenal to get out on the course for an extra 18 or 36.

In return of course - a thoughtful, honest and in-depth review.

Thanks FJ and GolfWRX.

I've owned 3 pairs of golf shoes to date...Nike SP-6, Adidas Tour 360II and Adidas Powerband. I've always wanted to try FJs but I could never seem to find a pair that fits well...or looked good enough. The SYNR-G in all white looks like money. I will be purchasing golf shoes (at least 2 pairs) in the spring...I would love to try these SYNR-G, maybe I'll like them so much I'll have to buy another one in a different color.

Pick me, pick me.

Thank you foot-joy. Being the lone golfer in my family and being a freshman in high school, I never ride and only walk. I have only worn footjoys and to me they are the most comfortable shoe i have ever worn. If it was to me, I would take my dryjoys and make them spikeless and where them everywhere. The courses I play are hilly and I play in the rain, the cold, the hot, and the humid. This summer alone. This summer alone, I have been thorugh 8 pairs of shoes because I am at the course practicing, and playing 6 days during the week. I know what I like in a golfshoe, and the new syner-g fit what I am looking for: comfort and style.

And in all honesty....tour only shoes? you have to be kidding me.

i wore footjoys for a number of years but given my relatively wide feet, i've gone to other brands that i've found to be more comfortable. i'd love to give my "pain au chocolat" another go in some new, proper fitting FJs...

There are a few reasons I think I would be a good candidate for a review:

First, I use varying brands of equipment and shoes, so I do not have a bias toward or against a certain brand. Footjoy has nothing to prove to me, and I'm also not a "Footjoy Only" person, so I won't take an overly negative or positive stance. The fact that I use a lot of different brands of equipment shows that I use what works, not what a certain brand puts out. I can be fair and objective and very descriptive (see below).

Second, I am a writer by trade, so my ability to verbalize and describe the pros and cons of the shoes will be very good. I can certainly give more than just a "These are awesome!" type of review. Also, being a fashion-forward type of guy, I can say that I will be able to give a relelvant description not just on the performance, but also the appearance of the shoes.

Lastly, I am an avid player and practicer. I walk 18 holes once or twice per week, and ride once or twice per week (with various practices mixed in). It's great to know that the TOUR pros like the shoes, but if Footjoy is going to sell a lot of these shoes, they must meet the Average Joe where he is - on a day-to-day basis. Are the shoes rugged enough to hold up? Will the consumer feel like she/he got her/his money's worth? These are questions that need to be answered for Footjoy so that they can have a good idea of what the average player thinks, and also how best to market the new line.

I am located in Toronto Canada and still try to get out to local courses that stay open this time of year as it is very very cold!! Would love to give these new shoes a try in the harshest of conditions and would be glad to report on how they performed against my other shoes Nike SP 7.5's and Adidas 360...

Plus its cold up here and we get bored!!!

Thanks

Im not going to get on here and beg and plea why i should deserve a chance to try these new shoes over any equally deserving person. My stance is that while these offers are great, and everybody gets real excited, the truth is, why should one person, who may be able to put words togther better than the next, be given any more chance of this oppurtunity than the next. It shouldn't matter where you live, what you do for a living, what you health is, your education level, or what shoes you've worn in the past.

While i want to believe everyones story, this is the internet, and anyone can post some sob story about why they are more deserving. I think in all honesty, picking 10 people randomly would be a much better method, and you would get different points of view from all kinds of different players in different areas.

I just think with something of this magnitude, why risk the chance that someone who is more than capable of purchasing these shoes, but gives some story to make themself sound desperate, actually get the oppurtunity over someone who really could use a new pair of shoes, but is not the greatest at creativity, or is too proud to come on here and beg and plea.

Just my two cents.

Thanks GolfWRX and Footjoy for the giveaway!

I have been using the last of the 5 pair of Footjoy Contour golf shoes I purchases a couple years ago. It is difficult for me to find golf shoes that fit well and can handle my size. I am 6'7 and 310 pounds. Due to my being a pitcher for 11 years professionally and many more years before that, my feet took a pounding and Footjoy Contours have been the only golf shoes that have succeeded in providing all the support, performance and comfort I look for.

I would love to try these new golf shoes and let all the "big guys" know about the comfort and performance that I am confident these shoes will provide.

Thanks again.

Well here it is....my story for the FJ shoes......I should get a pair because even though I live in the midwest and its 19 degrees here and I problaby wont see a golf course unless its waaaay south of here until the spring (or on the range). I feel that Golf WRX owes (ok maybe not really owes) it to me to let me have a pair to try due to the uncontrollable urges for buying selling and trading equipment on this site since I have discovered it. And since I have taken myself to the brink of marriage ruin and financial devistation (thats probably a little bit of a stretch too but it sounded really really good in my head) all in the name of new (to me) golf equipment I believe it would be a nice gesture and token of appreciation for my devotion to this website and the game we all love so much.

Thanks for reading.

Im getting up in years...40....JUUUUST starting to feel the age creeping in....right around hole 14 or 15...it STARTS with the feet....the feet start to feel heavy and by 17 may even be sore a little. I have tried countless shoe types...loose, tight, heavily cushioned sports, tightly woven all leather.....Im looking for a shoe that will keep up with the rest of my body for a complete round, provide the lateral support for an entire round and assist me in carrying a good score through to 18...will the SNR-G be the answer?

What a fantastic gesture as always from you all!

I would love to be able to test these! I have very picky feet and have not been completely happy with the shoes (2 pairs at the moment) that I have. I have a problem with the soles being too ridged when I roll to the finish pose (right foot). I believe that the footjoys would solve my foot problems, and would love to write a review, if given the chance to do so.

Thanks again.

I have worn many pair of golf shoes ( Nike, Ecco, and Adidas) but I have found the Footjoyy Classic Premiers and Classic Tour are hands down the best for my feet. I know, I have more golf shoes in my closet that my fiancee has high heels. I will be getting Marry soon!!!!!! and people keep telling me that "my golf life as we know it will be over"...... Perhaps one more pair of footjoy shoes in the closet won't make my bride to be some what mad...It will really pist her off if I wear them for my weeding day...that would be the ultimate act of customer loyalty to a company that stand ahead of the rest ( Best in Class). So an early weeding gift will be great way to start the new year and my new life with the girl I love.....

I should definately have the opportunity to wear the shoes because not only am I a golfer but i also spend three hours after my round in the 19th hole analysing everything from the turf conditions to the new improved square drivers to the waterproofness on certain shoes.

In fact it was me who challenged a local pro shop who specialized in nouveau chic fashion- everything from Hugo Boss golf, J. Lindeberg, Cross golf, Ecco, Puma and decided not to carry traditional brands in footwear such as Footjoy, Etonic, to revert back to stocking footjoy beacuse i had made a self proclamation that these shoes were indeed better pound for pound( or dollar for dollar) than any other he could throw at me. Simply put I had several members put on the test shoes , play golf and did a comparison on everything from comfort, function, style, value ,etc.

needless to say he is currently stocking nouveau chic plus old favorites- footjoy because OF ME.

Could you imagine what I could do for these new footjoys once i start wearing them and talking about them- watch out Recession.

Thanks for the opportunity.

As a newbie to this site, but not to the high end golf equipment cyberblah, I am excited at the opportunity to test this level of equipment and actually give an opinion. Why me? I would ask why NOT me. 40 something, lifelong golfer, single digit capper, legit player wannabe? Come on guys. What better demographic to demo these shoes? I don't believe that I am more deserving to try these than anyone else, but that won't stop me from asking REAL nice. Please. Pretty please. Heck if I get to try them I'll put a pic of them up as my avatar! Oh yeah. I love bourbon. I know that is useless information, but then isn't most of what is written in these please pick me threads! OK, now pick me!

Thanks and I am enjoying the site.

I've been suffering from a rare, but little known disease for about 5 years now. I'm forced to walk wherever I go, especially the golf course, and this only exacerbates my condition. I'm talking about shoevitis and it forces me to buy several different brands of golf shoes to see if there's one that can provide a cure. So far I haven't had great luck in finding that magic remedy. I did see an ad about a shoevitis specialist in Switzerland so with the last money in bank account I bought a plane ticket and made an appointment. I had to sleep in a youth hostel since my funds were limited, but Dr. Sole, told me I had nothing to worry about and the effects of my affliction could certainly be eliminated. You see, Dr. Sole, had suffered from the same condition until he tried an experimental drug--Footjoy SYNR-G shoes. He didn't tell me how he came about this wonder pill because if he told me he'd have to kill me. But he did say my salvation would come from these SYNR-G shoes. I came home excited only to find out they aren't yet available to the average Joe. However, I came upon this thread and it looks like through Golwrx and Footjoy's help I may have the opportunity to walk 18 holes without an inflammation of my shoevitis. Thanks!

I cant say that Ive ever used footjoys usually because when i go to local retailer they don't carry size 14. nevertheless trying is believing so send a pair over so i can switch over , because if the product is as good as they say then ill be able to trust that i can buy any in the footjoy line (in my huge size) without worry

Love all Titlesist products, but my classics I bought last year did not wear as good as I would like. I currently have a pair of J lindeberg Classics and love them. I am getting ready to buy a new pair and did like the preview I have seen of this shoe. I buy 4-5 pairs a season and would love a footjoy shoe that blew my socks off. I am a very loyal buyer so if I like something I buy it in every color and multiples.

Thanks

'Twas the night before my tee time, when all through the house,

Not creature was stirring, except the cat chasing a mouse.

My golf outfit was hung in the closet with care,

Me watching the Golf Channel in my comfy armchair.

My family was nestled all cozy and asleep,

With the morning sunrise out the house I would sneak.

I knew to escape I had to avoid any clatter,

I sprang from the bed and started to scatter.

Away to the golf club I drove in a flash,

Five police cars along the way my Mustang did dash.

The sun peaked through the trees on the fresh morning dew,

My old golf shoes I knew this moisture would get into.

While racing through the back roads what gets in my way?

None other than three-time major champion; the big Fijian Vijay.

With a little old driver he stood in the road,

I didn’t want to hurt him so my car I did slowed.

More rapid than birdies I slammed on the brakes,

And he whistled, and shouted, “Enter the FootJoy sweepstakes!"

"You can loose those old faithful leaky shoes,

I’ll give you my SYNRGs, just write a review!”

I climbed out of the car to see what up,

My buddy Vijay sure had the hookup!

Then out of the woods Camilo Villegas sprang,

Saying “You should really try the Tri-Lateral stability frame.”

I looked at the shoes, all shinny and white,

And I had to agree saying “Oh alright.”

"I’ll give them a test run, I’ll see how it feels,

I’ve been looking around for a new home for my heels.”

Singh gave me the shoes as Camilo left over the ridge,

“You’re really going to like the alloy support bridge.”

Vijay wished me luck and also departed,

I put the shoes in the trunk, and my car I got started.

Heavy on the throttle, power shifting through gears,

Excited to try my first new golf shoes in years.

Maybe these are just what I need for my competitive game,

Help me shoot lower scores, give rise to my fame!

I arrived at the golf course, ready to go

To all my buddies the new shoes I did show.

They liked the design “They look very clean!

How could you afford them, you’re only nineteen!”

I dismissed the comment and made up some excuse,

Didn’t want them to think I was crazy, I can’t take that abuse.

To the first tee we walked, bags on our backs,

I felt like a crouching tiger, just waiting to attack.

My prey my buddies, the course, and my career low score,

I’d take all their money, and bring the course record to the floor.

“Vince, your honors,” and I unleashed a powerful swing,

Vijay sure was right about this alloy support thing.

They tried to follow as the ball flew out of sight,

Thank you GolfWRX and FootJoy, these shoes are alright!

I love to try out new products and always give an unbiased review. I have never had the chance to try a pre- release product and feel that I could give a review from a consumers standpoint. I have worn both Footjoy, Nike, Addidas and Ecco shoes and usually make my shoe choice based on comfort, style and features. As a 17 year old, low handicap, equipment loving golfer who plays a public and private courses, I can reach out to a wide range of consumers, some of who have never heard of the new Synergy shoe. Many people that I get paired with look up to me as a avid golfer and always want to know about the equipment that I use and why I have chose it. A few respect my view so much that they also consult me for equipment reviews before they make a purchase. By allowing these golfers to see the shoe and hear about it's performance, a larger amount of people will be able to grow familiar with the new technology.

I also play in a wide range of conditions. Everyday is different in temperature with also with sometimes rain, damp conditions, different sand conditions and occasionally snow. This will allow me to experiment with the shoe and find it's ups and downs. Not all shoes perform the same in all conditions and with the ever changing weather in my area, I can find where this shoe performs best.

I'm a longtime FJ guy; actually it's all I've worn. I have numberous pairs in all categories so I feel my feedback would be worth while as I have a benchmark (including a mint pair of red, white and blue patent leather 1969 Johnny Millers which FJ recently braught back to life and added to the current retro classics lineup). I would love to offer feedback...BB

First let me say I'm a shoe-a-holic. Nothing better than a great shoe, golf or otherwise.

I'm a tough critic but honest and fair.

FJ has long been the standard for shoes and gloves.

I remember as an apprentice my first pair of Classics. The last in 11-C was a such a perfect fit it was almost orgasmic. Sadly the burgundy beauties got a fertilizer burn and retired just after soft spikes came on the scene.

The SYNR-G looks almost as sexy as my old PUMA's which are like playing in slippers.

11-M in any color would make my day....year.... :D

I believe I should have the opportunity to try one of these pairs of shoes because nothing will stop me from playing the game I love. My great grandfather began my interest in golf when I was a child by teaching me how to play. I always walk and play no matter what. I live in Illinois and throughout the year I see Rain, Blizzards, Heat and I play no matter what the weather. I have over come a broken leg & broken neck and continue play as often as I can. I chose to walk while I play because I am lucky enough to still have the opportunity to do that as well as play this great game.
