Adidas Tour 360 3.0's FAILED Miserably in the rain today...what do I do?

Recommended Posts

I bought a couple of pairs of of 3.0's back in May and neither pair has worn real well...not happy. I wore my white pair today and the the toes have bubbled a bit and I have the white chipping off....but today was terrible....We had some solid rain..but nothing anyone from Scotland doesn't deal with multiple times on the year. MY FEET WERE ABSOLUTELY SOAKED after 9 holes!! What do I do in regards to Adidas??

Thanks for the heads up. I was looking at the 3.0s online since they are going for very cheap, but if they aren't good in the rain, they won't work in the Northwest.

I guess I will stick with the Nike's. They don't last more than one winter, but since I can get the top of the line shoes for around $70-80, they are a safe bet.

A three years ago, I bought a pair of the original 360s and took them on a November trip to Bandon Dunes. It rained the whole time and my feet were soaked.

I went back to the store and was trying on a pair of the Adidas Mud Skippers. The salesman asked me if I expected to play a lot in the rain. I replyed that I was getting them because the 360s I bought from them just two weeks earlier wasn't enough for the autumn weather at Bandon. He asked me to return the shoes tot he store and a week later, he gave a a new pair of 360 2.0s.

The Adidas waterproof guarantee is no joke. I was so pleased with this service, I bought the Mudskippers too.

I had 3 pairs of the 3.0 fail the waterproof test. They replace each one, the last time with 4.0's
While I'm not happy with the waterproof performance, they are an otherwise good shoe. Very comfortable.
They do honor their warranty, usually with a new pair of shoes.
I still have one pair of 3.0s and they are standing up to the wet pretty good so far, but I've only had them about 3 months.
I live in Port Angeles, Washington. It 's wet almost all the time.
Dryjoys have never failed. I have one pair of those that's 4 years old, at least, and never had a problem with them.

I have had 2.0 and 3.0, both worked great in rain\wet conditions. My old 3.0 did have a leak problem when the sole started to split off the shoe. Took it to my golf shop and they sent them back to Adidas and I got a new pair as replacement. Was hoping to get a pair of 4.0, but guess it was too early and got another 3.0 back.

Adidas is great with their warranty so you have nothing to worry about. They will replace with current version if the one you sent in is no longer in stock.

When it comes to rain and wind gear protection, comfort, flexibility and quiet is imperative to me and that equates to spending more. ECCO Classics and Zero Restriction WhisperSoft GoreTex Tour Jacket & Tour Pants. I bought two pair of ECCO classics a few years back; they are great in slop and rain. I also bought my rain gear 12 years back, still in use and look darn near good ... making both good sound investments even though each is comparatively expensive.

I just went to the golf shop and showed him the shoes and he was astounded. He asked if I had a backup pair...told him I had the same shoes in black and that they have already been a problem. He told me to grab them too and he is going to have both replaced and drop shipped to me. He would have just given me pairs right then and there but I wear 14's and they rarely get 14's.

After wearing both for half a season, I can understand if there were just wear and tear problems...I cleaned them after every round. These were just water logged and easily weighed 5 pounds each. Miserable day...nothing worse than your feet being cold and wet..

You need to call Adidas golf first and get a "Return Authorization" number, then take them to a local golf shop, who distributes those shoes, and have them sent in. Chances are you'll get the 4.0's in return since the 3.0's are discontinued.

Honestly I'd think of switching brands though. I've sent in 2 pairs of adidas and don't care to waste my time doing it again, so considering a better shoe.

I'm just in shock...I haven't heard those complaints with the 4.0's,,,,here's to hoping.

It sounds like multiple people have had problems with the 3.0's and maybe there is just a design flaw in them. When both pairs crap out on me on the same day...I find it hard to believe that both pairs of shoes have the same problems...other than a design flaw.

I played 9 holes 2 weeks ago, 7 of which were in the pouring rain. I was drenched down to my underwear. When I got home and changed I realized about an hour later that I never changed my socks. I took my sneakers off, socks bone dry. I was wearing Tour 4.0's and I think they performed quite nicely. I never had 3.0's to compare to. If Addidas wants to give you 4.0's, take them.

I have owned the original Tour 360s and Tour 360 2.0s and I was very disappointed. At the time I was playing 4, 5, sometimes 6 days a week and the shoe would be done after 1 season.

IMO, every shoe is designed for the 'weekend golfer.' You would think a shoe that costs close to $200 would be worth something, but not anymore.

The best way to get the most out of your footwear is to bite the bullet and find the best leather for your $. Then buy a few pairs. Rotate wearing the shoes, so that one pair does not wearout faster than the next one. This will extend the life of all your golf shoes, but cost alot up front. :( sorry.

I have a pair of the Bandon's. Basically a high-top golf boot. Very waterproof, but only time will tell if the seams will hold up over time.

Also depending on how your foot/ankle is built, you may get chaffing (sp?) problems on the back of your ankle until the back of the boot breaks in.

Adidas customer service is great when it comes to shoes. I had the same issue with my 360 ltd, they replaced them no questions asked. The store didn't have them in my size so Adidas shipped out a brand new pair to my doorstep within the week at no cost to me. More companies need to take care of their customers as well as Adidas does.

So the 4.0's are on their way from Adidas...any idea how long they take to ship out? They sent them Monday apparently. I'm playing this weekend, and in Chicago this time of year...any time I play is a gift before we are shut down for 5-6 months....really need them.

Anyone that had their White 3.0's replaced... Which color in white 4.0's did they send? I really hope they are just the white with 3 black stripes as opposed to white black and grey. I guess beggars can't be chooser's...but I am very curious.

I sent back some white 3.0s size 10w in a box that had a picture of brown 3.0s and they sent me brown 4.0s in 10w. It took about a week, maybe 4 days. Pretty quick, I thought.
The fit was completely different with the 4.0 as the seem to be truer to size ( I usually wear 9.5w or 10r in everyone else but Nike)
I was fortunae the pro shop had some 9.5w white ones in stock which i immediately traded for.

Sounds like they NEED to have good customer service since the 3.0s sound like a BIG problem ..... I wonder how many pairs have been returned - hard to make monet when returns are high, I know this from other businesses.

Obviously there are wet conditions and then really bad wet all the time water over the sides don't wanna' play golf conditions. I have good experience with FJ shoes as well, and after several years if my feet do get soaked, FJ takes care of it. I would probably try the Nike Bandon if I were always in the wet.
