Me three. It's hard to tell without hitting but the 6 appears to have 1/2 shaft offset and maybe shorter hosel.

Thanks, Reid. I definitely agree with you here. Love me my MACHINE, but I've got an emotional bond with PING that hearkens back to yesteryear--and these do a great job in filling that void in my heart that was left when my daddy left to get milk that Sunday morning, never to return...

...but I digress. I'm obviously an Anser 4 guy from way back, but I was having a difficult time settling. And the Sydney is much nicer than I'd expect for a neo-mallet. I'll be needing one of those for when the wheels fall off the wagon, for sure!


As for those wondering about the difference between the 4 and 6--speculation is correct: less offset and more toe hang in the 6, especially as you'll notice that the angle into the head is a diagonal versus the relative perpendicular on the 4. It's WAY different than the ZB too--much shorter, really a first of it's kind for PING. I think they originally tried the ZB neck, but it didn't provide enough toe hang for what they wanted to achieve.

Very nice look. Just wish they would have done a super premium line out of GSS in addition to 303 stainless....Won't get my original Scotsdale or Dalehead out of my bag. GSS is the only material I have encountered that feels as good as the original manganese bronze castings the first Ansers were made from. Later Manganese Bronze putters never felt as good---maybe a material composition change----the finish sure looked odd compared to the originals.
One of the best feeling also I have is an unusual Anser model from 1974 which is made from BeNi (one of 50 made)..

Haven't seen a real close-up view, but I'd say it's either the 1 or the 2. Standard plumbers neck.

In general these smoke my tyres, they just look so slick.

For some reason all the high end customs with hand welded plumbers necks etc, all sorts of blueing and hand stamping in 6 colors just doesnt do it for me.

Same release date for all the new stuff G20 woods, hybrids, irons, Anser Putters, Forged Anser Wedges will be available for order in August with delivery in September (the usual timeframe). The i20 line won't be available until spring 2012 (a new date for Ping). That is what the reps. of the larger accounts have told them..
