So he got a special black colored G20? Saw a similar picture from another angle and while you can't see the squashed look you can see it is black which the G20 is not. More like the old TISI Tec gray color. When I was there for the practice rounds he was playing his G15 and had a G20 headcover on it. Could he have switched possibly but given Bubba's sticking with old equipment highly unlikely (still had the S59s despite everybody else using the S56)..

The G20 grey is very dark. It's hard to tell it's not black with certain lighting and angles. Bubba's G20 is stock.

Putted with the Sydney today, very impressed. Better roll and MOI than the Kombi. It was ugly but the long alignment line helped.

Is it just me or does the Sydney look like it would be hard to allign? By looking at it I feel like I would leave the club face waaaay open - maybe those criss cross lines??

Received my #2 Wednesday. Fantastic finish, feel, and roll. I'm really diggin' the grip, too. Doesn't this sorta validate the position that China has significantly narrowed the gap if not fully caught up to Japan in terms of manufacturing processes and quality? I know most people still buy into the whole "forged in Japan by default is somehow better than forged in China" but seriously, this putter is absolutely top of the line in every aspect.

Picked up a Syndey this morning. Went in for Anser 3, but the Syndey rolled ball after ball into the cup from anywhere I putted. The Sydney simply has this felling of perfect, and I generally hate mallets. I cant explain it, but it completely makes me want to play golf 24/7 now. So many pars today, way more than usual!

Same thing for me, I went in the pro shop to look at TM ghost putter then noticed a 33' Sydney. I putted with it from 5 feet and it was money. It has a firm feel which I like and it squares up so easily, better than the Kombi in my opinion. The red part does not really help with alignment but I guess you can't have everything.

i cant believe how many of us are torn between the 0 & 5. i think the perfect version is the 5 (face balanced) without a sightline but with the soundslot (beached). am i right? where u at ping wrx? can they make me one like that?

I'd like a 0 with a sight line or a 3 with a sound slot. Does Ping WRX do that?

I know you can get the 0 with a sight line. It was a $20 upcharge.

Sorry. But this is kinda funny. PING allows for more customization than anybody else, short of a handmade, and even then, given the VAST numbers of putters PING has designed, I'd still go with PING for fully custom putter options.

Yes. PING can add a sight line or dot to the 0, or a sound slot to the 1-5. Unfortunately, they can't take away the sight lines from models that already have them.

I thought I finally had setup my putter exactly like I wanted, 34.2 inches in length, 350 grams, UST Putter shaft and Iomic Jumbo white grip. I've been working with the iPing app on my iphone trying to get more consistent with my putting and have seen a significant improvement. I now have a forward press to keep the face square and flat wrist at impact. So, I goto GolfSmith to just check out the Anser line not really interested just wanting to look. I started putting with the #2 & #3 and they were just ok,(the iPing app said I had a slight arc and suggested a #2 putter) then I putted with the #5 because I liked the look. Right away the #5 had the right feel, weight and look. All of the manipulation I was doing with my Kia Ma I didn't have to do with the Anser Milled #5. My misses were to the left not to the right (which is my normal miss). I felt I had a more natural stroke and was dropping more putts with the #5 than the Kia Ma (albeit in the store). I've never putted with a face balance plumbers neck before. For the past 3 weeks I've been going to GolfSmith & Golf Galaxy, going head to head my Kia Ma and the Ping Anser #5. The Ping Anser #5 just keeps dropping more putts. Ping has a winner here in my eyes, now I have to figure out how to purchase one with my wife's blessing.

I just saw one in person today. I really like the new corded Pingman grip.

alright, had the chance to roll a few of these and here are my observations.

first, the sydney. the head looks really funky and strange but it makes it very easy to line up. the head is very light for a big mallet style putter and you kind of lose feeling with it. this is not my cup of tea and after a few rolls, i put it back.

now for the answer milled style putters.
i had a chance to roll the 2/3/5

they look nice, the grip is cool since its gray and corded but honestly, this putter really sucks. im not sure what it is, prob the shaft, but its very flimsy feeling. i dont know what it is but i did not like ANY of them. they all felt horrible.

Love the look, grip and for me the feel is better than Scottys or ghosts that I have been playing.

What happened to all the love for this new series. Several big retailers I frequent have said they have sold less than a handful of these. Is it nobody wants to pay $299 for a ping putter. At one big store I bought a couple of them and went back several weeks later. They ssid they had sold 3 total and I bought 2 of them... Another said lots of triers but no buyers... I would have thought with all the excitement shown on this thread they would have been a lot more popular.

Might also be the feel---they are tooo light. Definitely need some tungsten plugs to bring them up to at least 355....

The Anser wedges on the other hand are doing quite well.... G20 drivers are flying off the shelf...

I really really wanted to like these putters but having picked up and roled numerous examples in several shops, I couldn't believe how badly they marked up, and for the price
there were numerous examples of badly aligned grips..... rediculous, Karsten would have puked.....

and finally I found something that I putt better with.
