What iron set has the strongest lofts?

Hello. A buddy of mine has just picked up playing golf. He's been taking lessons for awhile now and is doing really well. But of course he has turned into one of the guys that's distance crazy. He wants to purchase a set of irons with really strong lofts. I told him that it won't improve his game but he's set on it. I knew you guys could help me out with sets to tell him. They don't have to be brand new current sets. He likes ebay. Only set I could think of that I ever heard were stronger lofted were the 2009 TM Burners. But again I've never really payed much attention to that. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

TM Burner 2.0's for sure. A buddy of mine recently upgraded to these and he is one club longer with the whole set. Very strong lofts.

I think the Cobra S2 forged irons have a 43 degree PW.

Wilson Staff Di11s: 42.5 degree pitching wedge, 46 degree gap wedge! Sounds gimmicky I know but honestly they are also fantastic irons. They launch the ball very high so the increase in distance isn't at the expense of height. Not to mention they are suuuuuper forgiving and a good bit cheaper than a similar set from TM, Ping, Cally etc. Great set for somebody new to the game.

Wow. The Staff blades I have been playing recently have a 51* pitching wedge. I actually find it fun to be a club or two shorter than my peers.

My soon to be retired Nickent 3DX Hybrid Irons has a 23* 5 iron. The PW is actually 48*, but they weasel around that by inserting a 44* 10 iron. It's wonky, but the loft progression is actually pretty good.

My buddy will probably salivate with those cobra lofts. I think he might find those wilsons an off brand. He's a brand ho also. Lol!

My buddy plays the older Ci7's and they have really strong lofts too

I have Cobra S2 set. The PW goes as far as my old 9 iron. I think the whole set is 2 degrees stronger.

30* 7 iron. 44* PW. Admittedly not quite as strong as the S3's but still crazy strong. The 8 iron has a stronger loft that my 7 iron.

Callaway X24 Hot were strong lofted and came out a year or two ago if you're looking for something cheaper than the new sets.

Question.. what is a "standard" pro set? For example I doubt Ernie is playing a 44* PW. I hate this phony distance race... pretty soon we'll need to carry 5 "wedges"..

really? he's basing his decision on clubs by what the lofts are. Can't you just suggest that he finds a set he likes and have the lofts bent a couple degrees stronger.

Burner 1.0s or 2.0s will be the "longest" by far. Not only are the lofts strong, but the shafts in the mid and long irons are longer when compared to your "current OEM" standard.

Yeah he doesn't want to have to worry about changing the specs himself. He just wants to buy a set with predetermined lofts.
