Post Your Irons Wear Spot

Just thought it'd be neat so see everyones battle scars. Bad or good, post yours up!

 

My Titleist CB's are still pretty new so not much wear yet. Kinda all over the place too. Lots of experimenting lol.

The course I grew up playing on could've been considered one large wast bunker with patches of grass called greens. It came complete with gravel cart paths. I also placed first in club toss in 3 weight classes. I've hit these irons from most every lie. Cart paths included as it was sometimes the better option. :good:

This is what my Miuras looked like after only 6 months. The ball had a randomly selected 1 yard draw or fade.

 

First 2 are of my 8 iron, but all irons 5-9 had no chrome on the sweet spot

I play professionally, so they get used 6-9 hours a day - range and course duty. Florida soil is quite sandy, so that accelerated the process. They've since been replaced and it only took 2 weeks to wear the chrome off the face of my new irons. When I lived in Kansas, it took nearly almost 2 years to wear chrome off the face of my clubs.

And yes, the face is caved.

That's good ball striking, but I'd have stopped using them way before the face went concave....

Florida sand, yes in deed! That's one way to have your irons sand blasted!!!

Here is my 8 iron from my Mizuno MP-33s, 2 years of college play and then retired. Here in Virginia, there is a lot of sand on the range as we have bermuda but there is more soil mixed than there is in Florida.

It wasn't entirely voluntary - I was waiting for a new set to be built, which was on short supply.
I play them 1.5" over stock (I'm 6'6"), so I need lighter than usual heads to keep the swing weight down, and the lighter versions of the heads weren't ready yet. Once the grooves were gone, and I knew it was going to be a bit for the new heads, it kind of became a test to see how bad the face could cave before the new irons arrived.
