45yrs old but in very good shape. Probably a former high level athlete in another sport  (maybe like a minor league baseball player). Because you're older, but you still swing 110+

You're also probably a + index. Maybe a +2 or +3 and you play in state am events. Have probably tried to qualify for a USGA event.

You drive a sensible car that is probably 5-6 years old. I am guessing like a 2018 Acura RDX or something.

Sometimes your wife is like "How much longer are you going to keep playing in AM events, i had to take Logan to his soccer game (your son's name is Logan) last Saturday" and you usually respond "this is important to me, and it's a short season!!" ...But overall she gets it.

Ms Cleo - is that you??

44, good call on the level of baseball, +2.1.   Have never played in anything more competitive than a club champ... though i want to (if i had the time to practice more - see your last comment). 118 typical speed

2019 - 4Runner

She asks in general - why do you practice so much (answer - i actually enjoy the range and the density of ball striking time i get vs 4.5 hr rounds and only 32-37 full swings in that time.  So i play 2x a month.

Do you have a side hustle of guessing weight at the county fairs?

LOL----no one under 40 is playing an OG graffaloy blue. But since you're playing X you swing fast.....the only guys over 40 that still swing that fast are ex-hockey and baseball players

The car was just a guess because of the function over form thing LOL. I love 4runners, i drive a Tacoma

The rest was just stuff my wife tells me LOL---I am 42 and play in a lot of events hahaha

Driver:  Ping G430 LST 9 degree - shaft options include Ventus Blue (Velocore) 6x, Ventus Black (velocore) 6X , or a TR Black 6x  44.25"

Driver 2:  G430 Max 10K 9 degree (whichever Ventus shaft isn't in the LST)

fairway woods: G430 LST  Atmos Tourspec red 7X or Speeder 757 7s (depending on how I'm swinging or how rusty I am)--only second-hand club in my bag; purchased off here on the BST

G430 Max 7 wood (one of the above shafts or a Fuji Pro 7X)

irons:  iblade 4-pw, DG x100 Green dot (+1/2"); sometimes swap out the 4 iron for a G425 4 iron, same specs  (slightly irritated by any non-golfers who say the name sounds like an Apple product) .  I have a set built to identical specs that i brand new stashed in an extra bag as a backup set (wanted them before they moved to a replacement only status or became impossible to find).  Absolutely love these irons. The original set still looks almost new (lack of playing)

wedges:  Ping Glide 4.0 52 wedge  DG X100 blue dot

Ping Glide 3.0 56 Eye grind DG s300 blue dot

Ping Glide 3.0 60 Eye grind DG s300 blue dot

all wedges set to play at 35.5"

Putter:  SC Special Select (despise that name) Del Mar 33.5" 1 degree flat, can't wait to wear out the Cameron grip so I can put a Ping PP58 midsize or an aftermarket grip on it; sometimes swicth putters to the Odyssey ProType ix 9HT (same specs as the Cameron) with a GP Tour Only Green star putter grip

Ball:  sometimes play a cheaper ball to start the season.  Have Pro V1's/ ProV1x's and left dashes in reserve  (buy those during the Titleist sale)

Bag:  Ping DLX black, 2017 version

Headcovers:  No OEM covers..plain looking Sunfish wood covers and a plain green leather headcover on the putter or a Golfer's Journal Black and green putter cover

Grips:  Whatever grips Ping put stock onn most of the clubs.  Gold color code with 3 extra wraps under the top hand and 7 under the bottom). I want to get My Lamkin UTX Green midisize grips put on all clubs so all my grips are the same (a few extra wraps under each).  Have about 30 of these in an airtight plastic bin I bought after last summer ended).  None of my grips are worn out, mind you.  I just want to play the UTX's because they feel awesome.

all irons/wedges/putters have custom green paintfill I painstakingly did myself.   Several hours spent researching what Paint to use on the Cameron  (Tamiya Clear Green gloss-- also bought some Mr. Color clear to compare)  I am also aware I carry too many clubs for most casual rounds (with the 2 drivers  and not removing any wedges) .

@MtlJeff  Please let me know your thoughts on my rambling bag setup.  Nothing is offensive.  I don't take myself too seriously.

You're probably late 30s or early 40s. You're an underboss in a large northeastern crime family. A lot of the golf you play is casual, but also often with city officials to get contracts for constructions companies, so golf is kind of more business.

You're good though, probably a low single digit. Somewhere like 3-4 range. You used to play a lot more for fun but now lament that business gets in the way too much. On at least one occassion, while strangling someone with piano wire next to a pre-dug grave, you noticed a Mizuno hat in their car and decided to let them go, but only if they leave town immediately, and you tell them they have lost all of their Jersey/Philly privileges.

Your average driver carry is 256yds, and you have a mid ball flight. You are a classic tweener for shafts and balls and can use most equipment due to this

You're close Jeff...  but missed the age.  57 and am starting to feel it...  I am surprised and disappointed you missed being an ex-baseball player.  I was a pitcher, the real athletes on the field as every single pitcher will proclaim...  LOL!!!  The rest is scary accurate...

You are 60-65 and used to be a great player, but somewhere else. Maybe in the northeast or central, somewhere boring like Ohio. You won a few club championships, but are now semi-retired and living in Arizona, maybe doing consulting or something but probably in a more blue collar field because the thought of ever wearing a suit disgusts you, and you're not obsessed with money anyway. You're not quite as good anymore because you don't care as much, but you can still play, i'd guess you're somewhere in the 0-2.5 range throughout the year. One of your favorite things is to get paired with a young kid who thinks he's awesome, and then shooting like a 71 that day

You like to play for something, not a ton of money, but something. Even when paired with randoms sometimes you'll ask if they want to play for a beer or something on the back 9 because it makes the game more fun. So you'll always keep like 5-10$ in your bag.

You're about 40-42 years old. You played a bit for fun in your mid 20s with friends but only casually, basically have a few beers and have a good time because you were all single. You probably played Dorval a lot back then because it was pretty affordable, maybe Ste-Rose out in Laval. Places like that. Although every now and then you'd splurge on 4domaines course 2 or Ile De Montreal irish. Once a year maybe you'd go to Tremblant and play le Diable. But you're a 10-13 handicap, nothing too serious

one by one, your friends started having kids and the golf group kind of fell apart. You held out a bit but eventually you met someone in the early days of Tinder, so you thought it wasn't going to be a big deal but you ended up becoming serious and getting married.....after the first kid you basically quit golf, because your idiot friends weren't playing anymore anyway, and you figured it was time consuming anyway (since you were a public course golfer, your tee-offs were always around 10AM---so like a whole day thing)

Now that your kid is like 12 , you've decided to take it back up again, probably within last 2-3 years. You still play public courses but are thinking of joining somewhere because it's been a couple of years and your wife supports you playing. You're not sure you want to splurge on a place like Kanawaki or Beaconsfield so you're trying to find something more reasonable. Hillsdale isn't really your scene....and courses like Ste Raphael are maybe too far away. So maybe you'll start with something semi-private like le Cardinal or Triangle D'or

You also want to get new clubs but joining a club plus buying a full new bag is a lot to consider with the family commitments. So you're thinking join a club first, before upgrading the old bag

You are maybe 28 or so. Played junior and college golf but then stopped playing competitively and tried to get a real job. You did that for a few years while playing in some AM events here and there but you hated your office job, which was probably something business related at a big company with a lot of politics , something in the field you majored in while in college. Like marketing or something

But you missed playing golf professionally and decided to try and play the mini tours . You spend a lot of your time on speed training and probably carry it 325+ on well hit shots.  You are likely a +4 or +5 and having fun playing mini tours in Florida or something but you probably don't live there full time

You know at some point you'll need to go back to the corporate world but for now you have enough people sponsoring you that you're not in a rush

I still look, but I don't judge.  I used to think guys with sweet bag set-ups had to be better players.  Not anymore.  I've played and whooped guys with $3.5K bags, and got my butt kicked by an old guy who played Ping G5's and used a Chipper around the green.  I used to use different head covers than the clubs I hit, simply because the head cover matched the bag.  Even got called out 1 time by someone who called me a "Poser" because I had a Titleist cover on my Srixon driver.  While it's fun to look and see what others are playing, I never judge their game until I see them hit the ball.

Well, it is probably cheating to say i think you're a basketball player because we discussed basketball in the other thread. You would have had to be at least 15-16 in 1996-1997 to know a good deal about Ron Mercer. So you're probably 42-45. I am guessing you played low level college in the Boston area, maybe a junior college around there . You were a guard because no one who is 6'5 is using a 44.25 driver.

So probably 6 foot, obviously still very athletic swinging X flex in your mid 40s. You have to have serious swing speed to elevate an Iblade with X100

You brought up being rusty on occasion so i don't think you play as much as you'd like, but you probably maintain a 5 handicap or so. It could be lower if you practiced but you don't practice much, probably because of your job. Guessing you have a pretty good job (which is also why you buy a backup set, because cost isn't all that important), and your a gearhead but not so much that you'll buy stuff just for fun.

So i'm saying 45yrs old, 5 index, work keeps you playing more than 1-2 times a week at most. Probably a private club member, and you can still swing 112-113 on a trackman
