What kind of dress shoes do you wear?

Don't really wear to many dress shoes, more like appropriate and practical, comfortable.

I have some AE loafers I may never get to wear again, it's spitting snow again.

I bought these if the snow ever melts? Irishsetters.

Hey Richard,

I don't know anything about Havana Joe's, but if you like them that's all that matters. I know some of us love the higher end stuff, and believe me when I say when you put them on you can tell the difference right away. I just recently started moving up in the spectrum, not only for looks but for the quality of the shoe and the longevity I know I will get out of it. At the end of the day it only matters if you like what you have. I've never looked down on anyone for what brand of shoes they wear...a grown @ss man in skinny jeans is a different story though LOL

I had a pair of Havana Joes that I picked up a while in college. It was my first pair of nicer shoes to wear with jeans. I bought a pair that looked similar to Doc Martins. The Havana joes were great shoes. Looked good, broke in well, were very comfortable and took absolutely no maintainer. I wore the shoes with denim and chinos regularly for 4 or so years. It wasn't until a few weeks ago when I donated them to goodwill because I haven't worn them in a year (I have a strict 1 year policy...my wife's parents were borderline hoarders so she is now the exact opposite). The shoes, while old (prob 7-8 years) were still in great shape.

Outside of the pair I owned I really don't know much about them. I know the pair I owned was really good and was definitely better than anything doc martins offers.

I suppose that's the problem with buying sight unseen. I've done my share of showrooming at Nordstrom before buying online to get proper sizing, but obviously that's only doable for AE/Wolverine/other more readily available brands.

Eh, it's not the end of the world. They fit ok with thick socks, and they are soooo amazing in the comfort department.

But they'll only get looser and lose value if I continue to wear them :-/

Yep, switch to the full version. You can definitely post via iPhone, I've done it plenty of times. (Pro-tip: rotate the pictures in your photo album to a weird angle and hit save. Then again to right side up and hit save. Then upload it. Otherwise the pics will be posted upside down. Don't ask me why, just how it is).

My dress shoes are AE & Ferragamo and my casual are Bass, lol.

Works for me & as you say, the longer that I wear em, the better they feel

OK. Here goes.

These are size 8.5 marked (per website), and fit pretty much right between my Barrie and Trubalance lasted footwear. Luckily this is accurate to the guidance a few solid dudes at SF gave me. The boots shipped with flannel bags, alternate laces, and a small jar of Venetian Shoe Cream. I can say now that they are worth every last cent. Wanted to see what you guys think of the two-tone alternate laces, but I think I'm going to keep the flat waxed black ones on at first since they makch the tongue and seem to be a lititle more versatile. This is an easy switch, so I'll be swapping them out now and then. Enjoy, and sorry for indoor lighting and awful iPhone photos.

Great looking boots, Goose! I prefer the flat black cotton laces on them, but the two tone would provide a nice change of pace every now and again.

Dam those are nice. Malin me reevaluate my next purchase. Personally I like the two tone laces better. Kind of makes it pop a little more.

Wow those look great! I prefer the two tone laces but the flat brown look solid as well. Really can't go wrong either way.

The two tone just seems to bring in the color of the welt and stitching, as well as, the color of the leather more. The flat brown laces make the shoe more muted.

Where did you get them?

I bought a pair of heavy 3/4 boots over 8 years ago and they are still killer. They must be made of like mamoth leather and made by magoc shoe elves.

I have trudged through years of heinous NYC dirty snow and slush, shovelled tons of snow at my folks upstate. Warm, bulletproof, never did anything to them and they are still perfectly structured and look great.

Thought they went out of business. Don't see them anywhere.
