Got an exclusive invitation email today from TPC regarding membership to TPC Sawgrass .

 

A cool $65k deposit and $6500 annual dues. Would be awesome but a bit steep!

For that price, I'd want tee times anytime, not 30 days in advance max. And there's no getting around 5-hour rounds there unless you're first off, which leads back to the 30-day-advance issue. Getting in the TOUR locker room would be pretty sweet though!

Do you still have to stay at the Marriott to play there or are they letting anybody buy a tee time? Played it YEARS ago and it was a blast. It was raining in HHI so we jumped in the rental car and headed south! Just haven't found myself down there again but I'd love to play it again.

You can book times through golfnow, at least you could last month. If you call and have $410 to spend they'll let you out. I got out with a long time member, and got to do a lot of cool things. If you're a member you could end up with a locker next to vijay or furyk or any other big name. And, you might end up playing with them sometime

That price I would look at Pablo, Ponte Vedra Inn, or Plantation. The Stadium course is cool to play now and then, but it is a very slow round (5 hours), bottles up real bad on 14, due to the 17th. I am sure the Dye Valley would be included, but I wonder if the courses in East Sawgrass would be included? You can always look for specials, like 350 to play both courses. Problem with this area is almost all the Public Courses are a coin toss regarding condition. For example, decided to try Flemming Island out last month and we left after 4 holes and went to Eagle Landing.

They're advertising a $2500 annual membership to Dyes's valley that includes 3 passes for stadium.

No way. Maybe a better membership (I agree that the booking windows aren't great at Sawgrass, and the rounds are indeed slow), but not a better course.

Played valley yesterday, they are losing the greens. Postponed redoing them until 2014.

Sawgrass is a sweet design very playable for all levels. Quite possibly my favorite course. I have to go back just so I can birdie 16 as it ate me up both days after 300+ yd drives

In Vancouver where I live. People pay 65K + dues for non equity share memberships so I see this as being not all that bad for a PGA tour stop

This is what a friend of mine did. He used to belong to TPC but ended switching to PV Inn & Club and has never looked back.

any screenshots on this? Does it include spouse like previous dye valley memberships? I know the old membership included your green fees but then still charged you a $15 walking fee each round? Thanks for any info 👍

I emailed them back in early 2020 and it was 50k upfront and 7500 a year

I was just quoted 10K initiation and 7K/yr for Dye Valley with a discounted rate to Sawgrass.  I don't believe they have a Membership structure like that specifically for Sawgrass.  The waitlist is just shy of a year out right now too.

I assume like other TPC memberships, this is plus a F&B minimum and cart fees etc?

Negative.  Since this is semi-private, there are no food minimums but there are cart fee's.  I believe their full private courses have a different structure.

Why would anyone want to pay this for a public golf facility? The main reason to join a private club is the exclusiveness. I pay similar (a bit more, but not a ton for <30). I'd imagine Dye Valley does 175+, 5 hour, rounds a day. Obviously location plays a role but it just doesn't seem to make a ton of sense for public golf.

My guest fee at sawgrass with a member is very very low.  The ability to network and bring anyone on Sawgrass at such rate is a plus.  A lot of members at Sawgrass/Dye are national members but locals love the club for the high end amenities.  Practice area, cart and caddie.  Not to mention teeing it up at sawgrass any given weekend.  I can’t speak for other TPC clubs but Sawgrass/Dye is head above most facilities out there, anywhere.  It’s a great deal in Jax.  The sawgrass membership is currently locked out.  It was 50k or so to join back then.  You are locked out.  No wait list to jump on either.  Dye membership is one of the best value in golf, especially for what you get.  It’s a mad house.

Can anyone just show up at Pablo and pay for a tee time? I thought that course was "maximum-security" private, no?
