Real women are not that fit? What? Personally I think she does a good job on the shows shes on and shes a good looking girl. I have no idea how people on the internet can make a "hotdog down a hallway reference" without even knowing her but hey whatever makes you feel good I guess. She obviously works out, can't say I care about the enhancements to the upper body but I don't think it looks bad either.
I said, "Real women are not that fit, and that large-breasted at the same time. Mother Nature doesn't work that way."

I'm sorry, but real women don't look like Barbie....at least, not naturally. Any woman with her obvious degree of fitness and muscle definition would also lose fat from her breasts as her overall percentage of body-fat went down. The only way someone could maintain the DISPROPORTIONATE size of her breasts to the rest of her body are two ways.

1. Her breasts have been surgically enhanced (most likely given her career choice and the 21-century eye-candy image she tries to project), or

2. That picture's been PhotoShopped.

I'm not slamming her. She's someone whose figured out that men (as a group)will give things to, and do things for women that they find sexually appealing that they won't do-or-give to women that they don't find appealing. Which gives her a competitive edge (in a male-dominated career field) over a less-attractive woman of equal talent. So, like a beauty pagent contestant, she's enhanced what Mother Nature gave her.

Of course the downside is that when you spend so much energy playing up your sexuality, a lot of people are going to fail to notice anything else about you.

All I said in my original post, was that my PERSONAL preference is for a woman who has spent as much time and effort renovating what's on the inside, as Ms. Sonders has spent renovating and maintaining what's on her outside. What's on the inside, improves with age. It doesn't wrinkle or sag.
I graduated from a high school with 60 people in my class and there was one family that hit the genetic jackpot. They all had natural six packs and similar natural "upper bodies" so yes it does happen... its almost not believable unless you see pictures. However I don't see the need to argue with you about this as you are obviously making a lot of generalizations in your posts.

The motivation is sex(y) sells but a fitness article on a player as opposed to a media pinup would have been more appropriate. The women's game is in trouble when HS has a club contract and most likely the only woman's cover this year.
First off, kudos to Holly for making the cover of Golf Digest. She's come a long, long way since getting her 5 minutes of screen time on Morning Drive when the show first started.

I also applaud Golf Digest for putting a woman on the cover of the magazine. It's really easy for them to dust off another pic of Tiger Woods or Phil Mickelson instead, so it's nice to see them thinking outside the box. And for that matter, placing a greater emphasis on fitness.

However, I can't imagine that the brain-trust at the LPGA is super enthusiastic about Holly getting the cover. I can think of a number of female golfers - cough Stacy Lewis cough - who deserve to have that cover. Again, to be clear, I'm not knocking Holly and I think it's terrific that a female made the cover. But the motivation behind the choice is bit suspect in my opinion.

I would say its fairly obvious that she's had breast implants based on her appearance now versus her appearance in college. Just like I said in a previous post the implants are not my preference and I prefer her look in college but I still think she is a very attractive woman. I'm certainly not "awe struck" by her because of her "barbie" like appearance. The generalizations I was talking about are your comments that just because women improve their outside appearance that they don't do the same on the inside... not sure 100 years of medicine can prove that opinion.

Would you rather she not have a presence in golf or on gc?

Are you kidding me? How can anyone hate on her.

I would rather she not be on the golf channel. Does that mean i hate on her. Not at all. Is there anyone you do not care for on GC. If so, do you hate them?
Many would agree that she is there to be looked at. I really do not see anything special to look at so for me, there is no reason to watch her. She is probebly a nice person.
No, but 45 years of life experience has confirmed what I actually said, which was....

"The MORE time a woman spends improving what's on the outside, the LESS time she spends improving what's on the inside". (I almost NEVER speak in absolutes...because real life doesn't work that way either.)

That happens for the following reasons.

1. There are only 24 hours in a day. So the more time you (or anyone else) spends cultivating one area of their life, the less time there is available to cultivating other areas. Not an "opinion"...simple math.

2. The general hostility to which my (rather straightforward) views are being met with. At the knife point of culture and evolutionary psychology.

Men are programmed both by biology and culture to find certain physical characteristics appealing. A high degree of facial symmetry (beauty). Even-tone skin and a high degree of body symmetry (health and strength). A large hip-to-waist ratio (wasp waist, ease of child-bearing). Different culture intepret these differently, and assign different values to them. But, cross-culturally, they are all seen as makers of "female beauty"...and are markers of strong genes, good health, and the ability to produce healthy children.

So women who possess these qualities are percieved as "high status" females....and as a general rule (for both sexes) mates who are perceived as "high-status" are afforded a lot more social leeway than mates who are "lower-status" and less attractive.

To put it bluntly, men tend to let women who are young and very beautiful get away with a lot more, and demand a lot LESS of them in other ways than they would of women who are less attractive. The converse is also true. Women tend to let men who are wealthy and accomplished get away with a lot more, and demand a lot less of them than they would of men who don't (in their view) possess those same qualities.

Which is why---whenever the issue of Tiger's infidelity comes up---I caution people to not assume that Elin was unaware of what Tiger was doing with other women, prior to the infamous "accident".

...and it is also why the typical (male) corporate CEO is several inches TALLER than average. (Gen X CEO averages 6'2", when the average height for men of that generation is 5'10")

Not "sexism". Evolutionary psychology is a well-recognized field of study.

While I don't agree with everything it has to say about human mating behavior, social behavior, and sexual attraction....I agree with its points where what I have said is concerned.

...and the intensity of your hostility, only lends further credence to it.

Because you are not simply content to say that I'm wrong and that you disagree....but you seem to have to make it clear that you need to feel that I am a BAD person as well.

There is a newly posted topic on Holly Sonders. It's disgusting. Would we talk about our mother's, sister's, girlfriend's, wive's, or god forbid our daughter's this way? It's time the mods and owner's of this site step up and refuse to publish this kind of crap! We don't have to act like a bunch of neanderthal's going for a cheap laugh! I realize men & women in the public eye are subject to criticism but when do we see men suffer this kind of sexist, nasty prose? If the owner's of this site can set standards in the classified section of this forum and pull ads that don't meet their criteria why don't they step up and treat their women member's with respect?
Seriously?

The woman is a fitness model/broadcaster. This is the type of work she not only does but wants to be good at. And it's entirely appropriate. Catch up to this century and show her some respect yourself.
