Fairfield GC in Fairfield, Ohio. I played it a lot when I first got out of the Army in 1992 and during my college days as it was right down the street feom my job. The last time I played here was in 2005, and I'll probably never go back. No grass on the tee boxes, fairways all jacked up. I am thinking that the city no longer appropriates money for proper course maintenance, which is sad. This was a really good public course back when.

From the Redwoods Golf Course in Langley, BC. One of my favourite courses in that area. This is the view down the first fair wait towards the first green. In the spring and fall th mountains usually have some snow on them.

Beautiful mountain settings make playing this course very enjoyable. It's a bit on the short side considering it's at 7,000ft of elevation, but that doesn't bother me one bit.

 

The colors are really showing right now and the course is in great condition. I rank it as one of my favorites in the area.

Lots of turkey and deer wandering around the course. There's moose too but I didn't see one this day.

Water Gap CC Pennsylvania. This tricky little par 3 is nicknamed Hagen's Folly. Walter Hagen scored an 11 here. Me? I walked off with a par! Fun golf course on NJ/PA border near I-80.

Elk Rapids GC, a somewhat boring little 9 hole course up in Northern Michigan. This hole was cool.

17th hole at my home course. 454yd par 4. Very strong hole, I don't think there's a CC club in the country that wouldn't be happy to have this as a hole in their layout. It actually looks even better from the tee box.

One of my personal favorites. Usually try to drive up a few times a year and meet my brother in law from Columbus. Good half way point to meet and fun track to play. Bet I have over 20 rounds played there in the last few years.

My favorite closing hole in town. Risk reward par 5. I blocked my drive a bit left 235 to the pin all carry over the water

Love your pictures and most of the courses you play but I absolutely hate this track. My brother in law lives in Delaware and I would much rather go play one of the other courses in the area. Very quirky for my tastes with some really odd holes. On the front nine the houses were built up right on top of the course and I feel like I am driving between people's houses to get to the next tee box...and that is the better of the two nines!!!!!. On one of the late holes, maybe around 15, there is road running through the middle of the fairway. I have never seen that before and thought it was a joke...not in a good way. I will not go back.

I have no experience with the course listed above but this comment stood out to me as funny because two of my all time favorite courses have roads in the middle of the fairway and a hole. They aren't just personal favorites of mine either but two of the better courses in the world by most accounts:

1. The Old Course-you commonly have to wait for both cars and people casually strolling across 18 on the small road there (Grannie Clark's Wynd)

2. The Mid Ocean Club in Bermuda has a road across the par 5 15th just before the green (South Road)

 

All that to say: weird stuff happens on great courses too!

I only played Delaware GC because I had never played it, and it was one of the few courses left for me to play in Columbus. In fact, I hated it too, very quirky overall and I'll never go back!
