Last week some friends and I made the trip up to the upper peninsula of Michigan to play some golf. We stopped at played at SentryWorld in Stevens Point, Wisconsin on the way up.

 

 

 

We played TimberStone our first day in Michigan.

 

 

 

 

Next day we played at Sweetgrass.

 

 

 

Our last day we played Greywalls.

I drove through Townsend several times on my way to Canyon Ferry Lake when I lived in Bozeman. Cool little town! Montana has some really nice 9 hole courses! The one in Big Timber was awesome!

First 2 are Mariana Butte in Loveland, Co before/during the heavy flooding we had in 2013.

 

The third one is 12 at Fossil Trace in Golden, Co

Great pics of Tennessee National! The look of that course really fits my eye. I looked it up and saw it's private. Makes sense....

I just got the wheels in motion to play The Course at Yale the weekend of October 1st. I'm going to be in New Haven for a Lehigh-Yale football game that weekend. I have pretty good ties to a couple of Yale alums that I reached out to. I'm rather confident I'll get on.....

Is that a fairly young course? Trees look on the small side.

Yes, I would say fairly young. It is in a housing development and it looks like they still have 85% of the houses to build. A much more forgiving design than the other 2 Gordon Lewis designs I played this week.

I snuck in 18 holes this morning at Twin Isles CC near Punta Gorda. Nice layout, pretty good greens but the fairways and rough were "not in the best of shape". I only paid $23 for 18 with a cart at 7am (was finished by 9am) so I am really happy and I would play here again. This has the bones to be a really nice place, and maybe at one time it was. Maybe they are hurting for membership???
