Thanksgiving Point

Lehi, Utah

 

This course has been on the Web.com tour the last couple of years as the Utah Championship. Patton Kizzire won here last year (67,62,71,69).

I played from the tips (about 7,500 yds) only because I was playing with somebody that was practicing for an Open qualifier. It was not wise for me. This course is not particularly easy on normal days and transforms to very hard on windy days. Of course we were there on a windy day. I shot about 12 shots worse than my normal score. Ouch.

Regardless, it's a nice course with good views and it's relatively inexpensive to play most of the year.

We didn't end up playing the Dunes as the greens were undergoing large time aeration but we did play El Cardonal. Pics below. Please note that it was extremely windy today and thus the pictures are limited.

Quail Ridge in Sanford NC is a really nice place, but it's in the worst condition I've ever seen anything in, including the schoolyard of my elementary school. We were moving our balls to any spot hittable enough. On one hole, a par5, we even teed our balls up on ant hills.

Played Kearney Hill today in Lexington, Kentucky. Pete Dye designed track that was quite challenging from the tips and in wet conditions. Links style course with well-guarded and huge undulating greens.

Doing this from my phone so I'm not sure how this will turn out. Played Skyway Golf Course in Jersey City, NJ from the tips last night. Only 9 holes but lots of challenges - 142 slope from the tips. Forgive my novice photography skills. Photos show from the tee of 7, 7, and 5. 240ish carry to reach fairway on #7 from tips. Hellish when the wind blows. :

Played Arcadia bluffs today in Michigan amazing course can see why golf magazines rate it so highly will be back next year for sure!! And shot 88 from whites hit 2 fairways all day made a lot of shots from thick rough :(
