That's sad. Looks like it was a nice course. Any reason it's gone? We have a course I used to work at (hosts the PGA Tour's Canadian Open every other year) that's soon going to be dug up and houses built.

While I'm grateful I get to play year round golf in Texas, some of these pics make me jealous of the scenery you guys get in Northern states. Our courses are boring in comparison!

While I'm grateful I get to play year round golf in Texas, some of these pics make me jealous of the scenery you guys get in Northern states. Our courses are boring in comparison!

 

Keep in mind that we have plenty of boring courses up here, too. They just don't make it on to this thread.

 

I wouldn't call TPC San Antonio Canyons, La Cantera Palmer, or Barton Creek Canyon boring.

Agreed, but those courses aren't exactly priced to play on a regular basis. My dad's home course in Upstate NY is both beautiful and a challenge and is the same price I play at my home course in the Austin suburbs, which is shoved in a community with zero scenery. An occasional milf can be seen on a back patio, but nothing like the views in this thread.

True that. When one gets away from the major cities, there are an incredible number of quality courses at affordable prices. Michigan is loaded with them. Nebraska has many. Alabama has the RTJ Trail.

Finally got the chance to play the daunting Stadium Course at PGA West. The 2nd and 3rd pictures show how rough the shot really is from the giant bunker on the 16th. It looks tough on TV, but it's even worse when you see it in person. The last 2 pictures are of "Alcatraz," the island green similar in design to the 17th at TPC Sawgrass (although Alcatraz plays from a much further 170 yards and an elevated tee). I'm looking forward to playing it again when I get the driver under control, haha
