Yeah not much chance of typical Open weather this year. It's been "Summer" for a couple of weeks now, and showing little signs of changing for a couple of weeks. 25-30* on the course the last few days. It could even be similar to Hoylake - control will be the order of the day.

That's an interesting black plastic piece on the top line of the MP54. Mizuno never struck me as a company that would add plastic to their MP line ala Cobra S9 irons.

I think that's a shadow. Highly doubtful this iron would be anything but a single piece of metal.

I have no clue if I'm right or wrong. I agree that it's highly doubtful, that's why it took me by surprise. What makes me think it might be plastic rather than reflection is the 3D perforated looking dots on the black piece. I guess we will know for sure soon enough.

i think the op is referring to the plastic MP54 badge and that does appear to be a plastic or polymer piece ala the wedge series

the reply referencing the shadow is i believe referring to the shadow in the cavity slot, which i believe is a shadow and i dont believe there is a polymer filling in the cavity slot (at least not in these pics)

as for the slit in the MP4 i would think that is the beginning of the running bird logo

i agree these both look really good so far

on the plus side if the mp54 logo is on a badge then i know plenty of people on here would probably like it because they can remove it for a super clean look ala the mx300's
