I was fit professionally (that's why my numbers from my gamer were hard to beat). I don't know if my fitter is as much an expert as the fitter we had on the day of the experience though. He was pretty impressive.

This was my first time...I've always self fit although I'd compare numbers on the monitor from time to time. I will note that the fitter's choices were polar opposites of from mine in shaft selection, loft and weight setting. I'll be anxious to see the results " in the wild" as one of my Nor Cal colleagues so aptly put it.

I had previously been to two "retail" fittings neither of which was of any value. However, through trial, error, and blind luck, I had found a driver/shaft combo that was easy and smooth to swing. It produced too much spin, but otherwise was a good fit. I brought it to this fitting even though it was not my current gamer, and told Avery that it was a club that was easy for me to swing. He took it inside to check the specs, and told me he was going to build my new SLDR to match those specs. So I'm expecting to get the best of everything in my new SLDR. Easy to swing, low spin for more distance, and a club that produces my preferred ball flight. That's all you want in a driver.

I had been fit for a couple of previous drivers but my current gamer I did on my own through trial and error and BST. I eventually got lucky and thought I had a gamer that wouldn't be beat. My numbers ended up almost dead on in all aspects except spin. I saw a huge difference in spin. I ended up in the same shaft as my current driver.

On another note, I don't know what waiting is worse.., the fitting day or today waiting for FedEx.

I got 99 problems but a kick ain't one! Scobee is going to be a top notch celeb golfer. From what I hear he hits up that TM Lab at TPC pretty often.

I am a self fitter also but wanted someone else's opinion so went and was fitted for a R1 black a bit ago. The setting and everything of the head was good on the trackman but was able to hit 20-25 balls and groove what the guy gave me. Got out on the range and just wasn't right and had to tweak the whole set up again to get it to what I want to see on the course. Seems even better since tweaked it. A lot of folks swing difference on the range / hitting bays as they can get in a groove. On the course, whole different world.

Hope what they fitted you for works, shafts usually don't change much in these scenarios IMO, just the loft / weight configuration of the head. Don't think some of those launch monitors mimic true flight most of the time. Trackman is pretty good but unless used outside, it is still using numbers to calculate your ball flight.

I have done a couple of them. Thats why my gain isn't anything earth shattering. My numbers were ok before, we just couldn't get to a spot with the head I l liked to where both the spin and launch were where they needed to be. This time around we were able to tweak one while keeping the other constant. Maybe it was the head or the adjustment we were able to do. Not sure.

Its going in the bag to start. If it works great, if it doesn't, it doesn't.

Driver mentioned something about a release so not sure if a signature was needed. Also, funny that the driver asked if it was a golf club. Wonder what gave it away
