Can anybody explain to me where pro players are using headcovers of one company (their bag's company) and then uses a different company's club. I love Keegan for using Srixon, but I don't understand headcovers usage.

As a Srixon/Cleveland guy he can't be advertising a Callaway or TaylorMade club by using their headcover, so he plays the club but tries to disguise it with a Srixon headcover. Wouldn't be a good look, unless he were paid to use those clubs. Been going on for years on tour.

I would like to add to this because it's not just covers. If you go back to 2-3 years in Keegans WITB he has a Srixon driver listed while he played the 290 Cleveland Classic driver in every tourney. Not only that WRX was forced to take pics of his Srixon driver as thats what he is supposed to be paid dor but then left it behind to play his Cleveland Classic. So he is toting around a Srixon driver and cover but then leaving the driver behind while playing lol.

 

Hey when it comes to $$ and contracts you do what is need or required.

- Something that continues to go long off the tee in the fairway
- Something that is a fairway finder when needed and long
- Something that high, consistent and helps with par 5’s
-  Something to help with long par3’s and short par 4’s

-  Something metal, lots of them and go the gaps I need
- Something metal, 2x of them and helps me 120y and in
- Putters - limited rotation because I cannot afford misses

Golf is what you make of it.  Play grateful and accepting. We are all lucky to have it.

Rather than expecting lets all try and appreciate instead.

I see many of the Srixon staff players are still bagging the 745 series over the 765 Irons.

Finally got rid of his Kusala Black in the driver?

Had the Aldila 2KXV Blue for most of last year

 

I'm GD guy. Haven't had a chance to try the new shaft but I see it's sneaking its way into bags now. YJS was the first I noticed and there have been several since then

I caddied for an amateur in the pro-am last Wednesday at Torrey and Keegan was our pro. On quite a few holes, he was testing a few different 3 woods off the tees and all seemed to have the same Black Tour AD Di shafts. At the end it looked like he settled on the Rogue. Amazing how high he hits them. Everything seemed to be about carry, very little roll out. He had great speed control with that putter. The greens on the North course were brutally fast.

While I don't find it strange that there's not many guys using the stock grinds on their RTX-3 wedges, it's interesting to see a few are using that shelf grind. I've never used a grind like that before, what's the advantages/ disadvantages?

Haven't seen that name in a while. Has there been anyone that has been more affected by the putter ban than Keegs?

 

Tim Clark basically lost his career over the Putter ban.... Maybe he needs to go see Bernhard Langer for a lesson

While I don't find it strange that there's not many guys using the stock grinds on their RTX-3 wedges, it's interesting to see a few are using that shelf grind. I've never used a grind like that before, what's the advantages/ disadvantages?

 

In all of the Cleveland/Srixon staffers WITBs recently - I don't see ANY normal RTX-3 wedges in bags anymore. Not many of their staffers were using them anyway, but a lot of them seem to have moved to that shelf grind

 

edit: it does look like Russell Knox is still using the RTX3 with a normal grind
