What's up with Ping i210's being on Classified section?

Great clubs. These things ebb and flow. When you see a lot of anything for sale, it typically only means a lot of sets were sold. Has nothing to do with the quality of the iron, but more the buy/sell patterns of wrx members. Lots of players just like trying different irons because it’s fun. Some guys may be looking for a different look. To me the Ping i E1, i200 and i210 are all pretty similar in performance, a little different in feel. All fit a broad range of golfers.

It means a lot of players bought them. I also think the I range of irons, like i210, is the iron that blade or small cavity players often try first when they attempt to go to a more forgiving iron. Some players just can’t deal with the wider sole (compared to a conventional blade or small players iron) and slightly larger profile in the mid and long irons.

I’ve been playing the S series for 11 years and just switched to i210. I’m really enjoying them. Not a huge adjustment for me switching from S55 which is nice.

Lots of new irons being offered this Fall - Titleist, Mizuno, etc. No doubt lots of people are ho'ing hoping to find the magic wand. If it doesn't work out, they'll be buying Pings again for Christmas.

> I've noticed recently a lot of i210 sets on the classified section. I have some Ping G irons but had thought about going with the i210's. I assume guys are not liking them, from some of the post I've read in the selling section. Just wondering....

... The best ball striker I ever played with was a Pro in his late 40's from Desert Mountain in Phoenix. We played Aguila and he played the tips. He had never played the course which was pretty remarkable because he is the only golfer I have ever played with that did not miss a single green. He played Ping i210's. I doubt his will be in any classifieds.

I had em for a while. Was tempted after hitting them indoors and they were definitely more forgiving than my previous MP18 SC's. Once I took them on the course the honeymoon phase wore out real quick. They did not feel great and I didn't get along with them through the turf. Went back to mizunos after a couple months.

I just got a fitting for i210 and played my first round with them. I am a 12 handicapper and switched from J40 DPC. I had NS PRO 950 Stiff/Reg shafts in the J40. I have AWT 2.0 Reg in the i210. The club design on the i210 make them very forgiving for me. I feel like I can easily elevate them with no ballooning. It is going to take a while before I say that I can maneuver i210 like the J40.

My main objective was getting a set with a 5 and 6 that I could elevate with no stress and the i210 set checks that box. There is enough extra offset and weighting in the i210 vs the J40 to make the trajectory perfect for me. I picked up 10 yards on the 5 iron with much better carry (on course observation).

I don't think my i210 or J40 sets will be going to the classifieds any time soon.

I have them with AWT stiff’s, thinking about picking up another set with Modus 105 stiff. I can’t find anything I like better that i210’s.

I'm one of those who took advantage of a good deal on the BST recently. I don't know if it's the irons or newest change in my swing, but the second time using them I broke two personal records.......hit 11 GIR and shot an 81 (should have broke 80 but 3 putted too many times). 6 rounds later I'm still getting great results. A few things I've noticed about them.........they've been great out of the rough; have nice turf interaction; distance is very consistent; and low/toe hits are not very punishing. That being said, I'm a true WRX'er and like to HO. The only set of irons I'd consider replacing them with right now are the HMB's. I think that's why you're seeing most of these sets on the BST now......new production irons are starting to trickle out along with most peoples season ending soon, hoping to sell what they have to maximize profits to fund newer equipment. I'm personally guilty of the latter.

Ended up returning them in the 90day playability. Went with Srixon z forged. The i210s left more to be desired for me. Wasn’t crazy about the wider soles and wanted to go the route to more of a traditional players iron/blade. The Srixons felt better with it’s softer forged heads and didn’t lose much more on miss hits compared to the i210s.

Interesting post...I currently have Ping G irons and Mizuno MP18 MMC's. Distance wise my pings are a club longer, I know, it's the lofts! But there is nothing like hitting the mp18's. I've been playing them recently and have enjoyed them, just go up a club for distance. But I also enjoy the G irons and they boost my ego on distance (I'm 61 now and that bothers me sometimes), Anyway, love both sets and have been a ping owner a long while now but man those MP 18 MMC's are sweet!

It’s literally a different club. Hardly better or worse.
