Wide fit, waterproof, spiked shoes

Advised by my physio and doc to wear wider fitting shoes. I like spikes and as our course is wet for a good six months waterproof uppers are a necessity. Our local stores are massively focused on FJ and Adidas so was wondering what other brands are worth trying? Skechers? G Fore? Ecco? Not a Nike or Puma fan as I like leather uppers.

Try Ecco. They have spiked & spikeless; the biom hybrid 3 is spikeless but does pretty darn good in wet conditions.

Can also try new balance; they definitely have wide widths available, I’m not sure how good the leather, any waterproofing is.

Youll probably get some recommendations on sketchers here as well; I don’t have any personal experience.

I have wide feet as well and I only buy Ecco’s. I own several but only one pair with spikes Biom G2’s. The G2’s are very nice shoes and are waterproof.

Sketchers stuff is pretty wide fit overall.

I have Ecco's and True's. I have to go with a wide in Ecco I have both the spike less and spiked. True's run pretty wide.

I prefer Adidas wide fit shoes. They (and Pumas) have been the most consistent in sizing for me over the years. FJs have too high of an arch and Eccos are too soft for my preference. Nikes are nice when they fit. But their shoe sizes are really inconsistent across models.

Wow, I've found Adidas wide fit to basically be similar to standard fit in other shoes.

have a bunion on my left big toe and bought adidas wide, full leather (play first or second group every weekend day) ... they work great for me ... workhorses ... toes don't feel the effect at all ...

I really like the fit of my wide Adidas Powerband BOA's. But, I have a problem with one of my feet (Morton's Neuroma maybe?) and one of the spikes pushes right on that spot and makes for a pretty sore foot at the end of the day. I recently purchased a pair of Footjoy Tour-S's. They also fit well and have a different spike pattern which doesn't put pressure on the outer balls of my foot. The Footjoy's appear to have a narrower toe box than the Adidas do. But, that's not a problem for me.

Most Skechers shoes are available in wider widths. I have a couple pair of Skechers golf shoes and even though they're not the prettiest, they're certainly comfortable.

Dryjoys or Icon's are awesome. Waterproof and great walking shoes.

Ecco GTX have Goretex which in theory gives you breathable waterproof shoes.

Footjoy has Extra Wide models that have always worked for me. This may be unique to me only, but I do find that Footjoy shoes run long. I typically bump down a half size in them. For example, I wear 11.5 4E in New Balance shoes (12 4E in a couple models). In Asics, I take a 12 4EIn Footjoys, 11 XW fit me great. I also have had some luck with 11.5 Wide.

Nike shoes are no-go as far as width (at least for me).

how do the Ecco’s fit in relation to FJ? FJ size 10 = Ecco fit

I'm a 10 and 44 in ecco fit me great.

I'm a 9.5W in Footjoy. Ecco Hybrid 3s in 43 weren't wide enough unless I took out the insert. The 44s were a great fit on the width, but were a tad too long.

Based on my experience, I agree with LeoLeo99 that FJ 10 should be Ecco 44
