Bought a set of irons off thePINGman about 12 days ago. Haven't received the irons or any tracking. Won't respond to my messages. What next?

File a paypal dispute to get your money back if he hasn't shipped, no communication, etc.

Log in to your paypal account and look for the charge. You should be able to start a dispute from there after 12 days.

He’s not new and was last active on 11/14. Hopefully there’s an explanation and it works out. But do file the PayPal dispute to protect yourself (you didn’t gift did you?)

I bought a hat from the guy...8 days later got a sob story about being sick...said I'd get tracking that night, I guess the sickness returned. No real issue for $20...hope the OP gets his irons. Sad there are people like this...

no doubt...but the absolute dead ringer is "I left it with my secretary while I jetting on a business trip..." Haven't been told either yet...

Just got a refund through paypal.

This is the message he sent me: "I’ve issued you an immediate refund. I’ve been out of country with out personal phone. Your package was among several that were pickup up from my porch and didn’t make it to where it’s going. I don’t know if they were stolen or lost in mail or what. I just got back home and need to figure this out. "

I think we all know that this is total bs considering his history. I think its time to get rid of this guy mods, we don't need people like this ruining a great golf forum.

Is it common practice to leave packages on your front porch for pickup? I have only ever taken things to PO or shipping office to send things.

I leave packages on my porch for pickup by USPS. It's tough for me to get to the post office sometimes. My front door has a spot that is a bit hidden where people cant see packages.

Soooo... When are we getting out feedback back? Ever? I was pretty happy with my 200+ rating. All that ho'ing gone to waste. :)

This place isn't what it used to be...

The BST is the Wild West now that Rating History is gone..... I'm sure the change to the Forum was for a reason however I can't see it.

But there’s been countless updates telling us feedback is coming.

To be fair I have done one deal on the BST since the change to Vanilla and it couldn't have gone better. With the lack of BST feedback I looked at the sellers join date and posting history and didn't use F&F(and would have walked away if asked). If anything came up that I actually wanted to buy I would do so again with the same process. There were more than a few deals that went sideways where one or both parties had good or great feedback. It helps alot but is not the only factor we should consider.

I’ve done a couple. They’ve all gone pretty smooth for the most part, but I did walk away from two different potential buyers very early on in the process. Without feedback to vouch for members who don’t participate on the forums or haven’t been around long, all I’ve got to go on is a gut instinct. I personally don’t think that feedback is uber important in and of itself. But just having the feature in place to help us police our own (and make it known to those considering using the BST to scam) is just another layer to making the BST as safe as possible. BST will never be perfect and feedback won’t solve most major problems. But, if there’s a choice between feedback or no feedback, I’ll take feedback every time over none. It’s mind boggling that it isn’t back in place yet, and it’s fair to question why other features that make the site a better platform for advertisers have been instituted but the feedback feature, in some form, has not made the migration yet.

Rookie move, I leave all my packages with the hotel bell desk when on important business travel.

I'm always amazed that the jet-setting, globe-trotting BST sellers even have time to respond to us peons.

BTW all...while I haven't been as active as in the past, I've still sold many things since the site upgrades. While I realize the lack of feedback is less than ideal (I was in the top 10 with 500+) it's still pretty much the same BST I've used for nearly 15 years. This is my second issue when buying, the first was a very long time ago (before 2010). I still prefer this site to eBay...

He was just so sick he didn't want to get the mail person sick, thus left them on the porch.

I completely change my opinion of him...I've got to think more positively.

I'm concerned that he may have picked up a foreign disease.

I did receive the hat (as described) yesterday. Still have a refund pending but will resend money when it clears. He delivered almost two weeks after sale with very little communication. Less than ideal but ultimately came through. Hope others are made square. Would never deal with again however.
