BST listing: https://forums.golfwrx.com/discussion/comment/19355933/

I paid for a Scotty Cameron on 2/6 and was told it would ship the next day, after no tracking number was received on I messaged him asking for one on 2/10. I saw that AsianTigerWoods was aaking about his order status in the comments and just opened a PayPal case today.

AsianTigerWoods went on to tell me that "I paid ace1234 for a 54 degree wedge on 2/3, said he would ship out next day. I followed up with him on 2/5, said he was stuck out of town and would ship the next morning, said he was printing out the shipping label right now and would send me tracking. I followed up with him on 2/7, no response. Followed up several times and still no response since I paid him on 2/3."

Anyone else have any dealings with ace1234 in the past? He has been a member since 2011 and is paid BST.

I'm sure ace1234 will come to this thread and have a perfectly reasonable explanation. That's typically how these things go. 😆

Just the workaround. Mods have posted that we should leave feedback on user's profile "wall" ("Activity" text box under badges). I have left some positive feedback this way for others.

Hello, I'm the other victim lol

OP posted my situation with this scammer, but to go into a little more detail, here's a time line of what happened:

Feb 2: We messaged back and forth about the TM MG2 54 wedge I was interested in, he was super responsive before I sent him payment.

Feb 3: I decide to pull the trigger and paypal him the money. After I message him to confirm receipt of payment(his paypal is [email protected]). He responds back saying he would ship it out first thing next morning and would send me tracking.

Feb 5: I follow up to see if he shipped the item since I did not receive any tracking. He responds saying he was stuck out of town last night and was printing out the label right now so he can ship it out the next morning.

-At this point I'm thinking great, "stuck" out of town, how many times have I heard this before. But he's been a member here since 2011 so I gave him the benefit of the doubt.

Feb 7: I message him but no response.

Feb 10: Message him but no response.

I've since opened a paypal case and will get my money back so I'm not worried, this is not my first time dealing with a scumbag. Its just annoying and feels like I stepped in ****. Is there a way we can ban him?

Ban him? He’s a solid revenue stream for the site. 8 years of paying to play on the BST must earn a lot of leeway. /s

I'm pretty new here, what do you mean by "paying to play on the BST"? What is BST and why do some people pay for it?

BST stands for "Buy, Sell, Trade" and refers to the classifieds on GolfWRX.

To post a sales ad on the BST, you either need to have posted enough (I don't recall the exact requirements) or you are locked out. Alternatively, you can just pay the site a small fee so that you can post sales ads. The idea behind the post requirements for BST is that you have to show that you are a contributing member of the forums and not just someone popping in to scam the buyers. When disputes show up like the one OP is experiencing, they very frequently involve people who pay to access the BST, therefore allowing themselves to pay a small fee to earn a big score by scamming buyers with their ad. Or perhaps not as nefarious as that, paying to access the BST allows people to be lazy and negligent in their transactions when they have no real fear of losing access to the account they built up over the years.

Welcome to the forums! Don't be a jerk and you will find a very welcoming and informative community.

Thank you for the explanation! Having been a part of car forums for the past 20 years I find it really really odd this site doesn't require sale ads to include seller username and date on a piece of paper.

It's a work around but not a very good one. If somebody posts feedback to a users wall they can simply delete it. It's not a permanent comment.

This is one of the reasons I am hesitant to purchase from BST. Seller looked legit and I would have bought from this seller as well. Member since 2011 with activity and paid BST. I was not active when feedback was around so I dont know any better. But a feedback system of some kind definitely would be a good step forward.

Yeah, still seems that the biggest complaint of this “update” is the feedback. Used to be easy to buy and sell on the BST, but now with no feedback you don’t know who to trust. Sucks that we’ve had this update for however long now and feedback is still missing.

A quick update, he never responded to the PayPal case I opened. It has been closed in my favor and I just received a refund from PayPal.

Lol, I just looked at his profile. Instead of “titanium tees” or “greens”, his categorization is “bunkers”.
