If you dont like the color of the sole, just get rid of it yourself. Its quite easy to be honest and looks so much better in the bag

ill bite...how?

Wet sanding, I used 280, 400, 800 and 2000 grit. Making sure it stays wet so it wont leave any scratches and masking of what I dont want to sand. Takes around 20 mins per club. The sole is easy but the "bumpers" or whatever you wanna call them on the back takes patience. Wouldnt do a whole set like this though but for my two clubs it was worth it

By wet sand, do you literally mean water? Never done this and really really like the look. Have any pictures of them in the bag?

Its a special sandpaper that you dip in water to make/keep it wet which reduces the friction. Lower friction means less impact on each pass so its slower but lets you gradually go thorugh the paint so you dont go down to the nickel part of it. If you go without masking you minimize the risk of putting scratches where you dont want them as well. I had to get rid of the masking when I was working the bumpers since i had to replace them every 2 mins because of their location so I just got tired of it and went at it anyways.

I'll get some pics tomorrow

What lie angle do you play your irons? Couldn't help but notice there's range mat residue a long way up the toe part of the sole on that 3-iron.

I should play at +1 but I play -1 to take the left side away completely since I prefer a fade

How do the T-MB heads compare to AP2's weight wise? I've heard that the T-MB heads are very heavy in relation so that if I ordered my same set up I have in AP2's right now they would be a much heavier swing weight than I'm used to. Anyone had this issue, what did you do? Order T-MB at a certain swing weight?

I really like the idea and the look of the T-MB's so I'm considering them as my next iron set.

Interesting, when I tested the 716 TMB 2 iron I didn't find much of an improvement off the tee however with the same shaft as the 712U it performed a bit better off the deck.

These are more bendable than most people think. I was able to get mine 2 flat from standard without any problem. If anything heat up the hosel a little bit with a heat gun.

This. I play at 3flat and my builder got there with a little effort. Been playing these for almost a year including LOTS of winter range time on mats and zero problems.

People don't realize that Titleist irons are pretty much the most upright irons on the market. The T-MB's are surprisingly easy to bend

Hit the 4 and 5 and 7 on the weekend on demo day

Wow

Great feel

I loved them w the xp90 shaft, 2 flat and plus 3/4"

I hit my irons low so I loved the high flight on these

Feel up my alley as I love S55 already

Hit a lot of iron vs iron vs iron this weekend

S55 beats out my x-proto and j15 mb's. Can't shake these 55's (which I also preferred over my iblades)

I just had a Titleist fitting and was fitted into 718 tmb with Modus 105. Rather than spending almost $2000 on a new set of irons, I found the exact set I needed in 716 on eBay and jumped on the opportunity. I have played 3 rounds so far with these and it is impressive (distance, trajectory, feel). I doubt there is any noticeable difference between the 716 and 718 TMBs ( according to Titleist, more tungsten in 718 90g compared to 83g in 716 leading to higher MOI) but others on this board can chime in if there is an upgrade.

Duel between 718 T-MB and P790 in Swedish golf magazine.

Short summary:

Looks

T-MB wins by having amazing thin topline and compact head very blade like.

Feel and sound

T-MB wins by having softer feel and regarding sound P790 are more clicky.

Forgivenss

P790 wins, especially on thin hits.

Acquisitiveness

T-MB is stronger, but too expensive so P790 wins.

Total score, T-MB wins.
