Honestly I've got no idea. I've never hit or even saw the T-MB 716 in person. That's just what the tourspecgolf.com write up said. I have zero first hand info on these except what's from the link.

In one of the posts I made in this thread there's a link from tourspecgolf, the link might be able to answer some of your questions but details now that I know of are only from that link.

EDIT: Here's the exact wording from that article "Titleist Japan is saying that they have found a way to make the new T-MB more forgiving than even the current model AP2."

Hope they made some impressive improvements as the 716 T-MB was very hard/harsh feeling.

Dumped them for the 0311T PXG and no contest.

Doubt they have added anything to that hollow head to make an improvement.

Also, noted that they were higher launching? They were already too high launching for me...PXG again much better.

LOL

Cue the PXG iron and towel pic.....

Atleast the T-MB has some feedback and you can tell where on the face you hit it. The PXG might be "soft" but I've never hit an iron with less feedback, every shot no matter where on the face has the same dead mushy feel.

Since this is a Thread on the T-MB, I will link it to the T-MB.

Yes, the PXG feels more like a forged iron than the T-MB and likely the `17 T-MB as it remains a thin faced hollow head with no vibration control.

BUT, lets see what FairwayFred said about the comparsion to the T-MB............

"The 0311Ts look a little better with a smaller profile and less offset. They also feel better and more like a traditional forging. They lack a little bit of the feedback of a traditional forging as they feel basically the same no matter where on the face you hit them."

But keep in mind FairwayFred plays a 50 compression ball........LOL

I have a full set of 716 TMB's, and for what its worth I just don't see anything that's "better" out on the market. Seen some say they're harsh and hard feeling, but obviously they were not hitting the center because every club feels good when flushed. The ball just explodes off the face of these things. I play 4 thru GW in the TMB with my 5 bent 1* strong and the 4 2* strong. I couldnt' be happier with the clubs. My only negative thing with this purchase is I ordered them with the KBS tour V shafts x soft stepped once, but when they arrived I tested the frequency and the came in regular stiff. If I do replace these its only because I'd want this fixed. Maybe hard step the x next time.

I personally like the height the ball flies. It allows me to go after pins I couldn't before.

Yes PXG feels more like a forged clubs than the TMB (btw I game MP5s after owning both TMB and PXG so no dog in this fight though to me TMB > PXG). My issue w feel and the PXGs is they feel the same no matter where on the face u hit them. While softer I'd rather the feel of the TMBs over the PXGs simply due to the feedback which was non existent in the PXGs.

for me the T-MB long irons are 7-10 yards longer in carry distance than any long iron i have ever hit. The hollow design and thin face definitely help there. As far as forgiveness they are IMHO slightly more forgiving than the AP2's. The heel and toe tungsten weighting alone make them more forgiving. I know they are slightly stronger however i have hit jacked up lofted irons before that didn't give results like these. I have compared them directly with my son's 714 AP2's with the 3 and 4 irons. More distance, equally as accurate, they sound different and i like it.

I don't find that to be the case. Obviously they don't have anywhere near the feedback of a blade, but that's a fair trade for forgiveness.
