Hit the four iron to a par 3 at 220 yards on the button! Didn't even feel the impact and they're not that hard to utilize. I'd rather have the feedback if I don't hit one correctly rather than have it muted and not know what happened.

780 ES F4 Recoil? They are in 80’s gram and I am curious if the flight is higher than what I am using Tour V X for the blacks.

Correct. They seem to be a tad higher which is what I like ,remember the loss from the six iron to the pitching wedge of 4° higher than most irons that are out there now as well.

Just recieved mine yesterday .... They look so good!

X100 .5" long - standard lie as this is what has been in my current 712 AP2's

 

Must say the 4 & 5 are a little intimidating looking down, especially how thin they are. I think the black finish also attributes to this.

 

Pretty windy morning and initial thoughts was they were flying a little higher than expected. Mind you these were the first shots hits. Didn't even get a chance to warm up so I only hit a few wedges, one 8 iron, 7 iron I pulled which is my miss, a easy 6 on a par 3, a 5 iron that I caught dead centre and flew 200 in the air, slight breeze in the face and landed soft and a 4 iron off one tee.

 

I believe the lofts are slightly weaker and will have to compare them to my 712 AP2's. I naturally hit it fairly high but this year I have been keeping the ball lower and to make things even more confusing I gamed a Taylormade TP5 - I typically play a 5X, V1 or V1X.

 

Can't wait to get back out.

I'm hoping the X100's are still the shaft for me but would love to drop in some blacked out shafts at some point.

So are these things a true MB/blade? I always thought they had some hollowed cavity inside. I admittedly haven't really given them much thought, so I havent read much on them. Do they play like more of a cavity? This could possibly be the best value iron available if you have the game for them.

I have had a regular set for a month and surprised their pretty forgiving . I feel like the play more like a cavity back .

 

Sweet looking irons and amazingly cheap right now.

I love how the Black irons performed for me but time to move onto the different shaft other than Tour V X. I am thinking about KBS TGI Tour Graphite 100/110. I have a good experience with 760/780 ES also Nunchuk shafts too.

I just got my set last night and I am headed to the range tonight. They look great and I can't wait to hit them. The black head does make them look small and a little intimidating in the longer irons but I have hit the satin ones before and I know they are surprisingly forgiving.

Just got mine and they know have lamkin z5 grips with ben hogan logo and blue and grey look really nice

I was finally able to get out on the course and play with them this week and I love them. On the range I was worried with the KBS Tour V shafts because they felt heavy in the grip section og the shaft. I was able to get comfortable with feel. I hit them great on the course and they were longer than my previous set that had the same lofts.

I have $-tapers in R+ in my current irons. Any thoughts on what stock shaft would be closest? R300 is my guess! Thoughts appreciated and seriously thinking about these as a backup/collectors set.

Yes. I saw the Instagram post.

 

A bit weird to me. They aren’t white. They are chrome. But whatever. They had to name them something. They wanted to ditch the “15” in the original name: “Fort Worth 15.”

 

I think that had to do with being a 2015 model, but I’m not sure on that.

Had I not built a set of baby blades at the beginning of this season, I 100% would have gotten some Ft Worth blacks. These clubs look awesome, reviews are all great, and the price is even more great.

I have 3 sets of 1957s, a set of mid-50’s Hogan Precision’s, a set of P730s, and a few others... Long story short, I’m still debating getting a set of FT Worth Blacks. I’m only holding our for some black Eqalizers. If they make those, I’ll order a full set of irons + wedges. #NeedBlackEqualizers

They used the issue of the Ft White to raise the price of the Ft Worth Blacks. Still drastically lower cost then comparable irons out there though.

 

Glad they gave people the option to stay with chrome.
