Bubba doesn't change irons for years. And now he starts playing every new set of irons that Ping makes. Obviously Ping is doing it right lately for Bubba to keep updating.

Bubba played S59's for years and then switched the S55's when they came out in 2013. He played iBlade's for about 2 weeks and then went back to S55's. If he keeps these in the bag it would mark his first REAL change in 5+ years.

As far as he hits even those, moving to the Blueprint irons (according to the additional distance that I've seemed to see they would provide) would be a bad move IMO.

Not to get too existential or sidetrack the thread, but it's been great to see Bubba going through a renaissance of sorts. He seems to be aggressively addressing his self proclaimed 'social anxiety and a lot of mental issues' as well as physical issues. I've noticed his increased willingness to speak to the press, stepping up his postings on Twitter, and wanting to be 'part of the guys' more than playing in the Ryder Cup. Not long ago he was voted by the players as the last person they'd help in a fight, but I would bet that sentiment has drastically changed.

His willingness to change up his equipment and try something new is just another extension of that. I've got to say I'm becoming more and more a big fan of his. Go Bubba.

Yes polarizing, better choice of words. I like the guys who are themselves. Don’t play politics and make no apology for being who they are.
