Matching Head Covers? Yes or No?

I wish I found the line to draw when it comes to headcovers.....I have a problem. Half of them are just experiments lol.

 

I have at least a dozen where the club was flipped/traded//ho'ed before the cover even arrived!

 

It's always so comforting at least knowing you're not the only one.

I have the stock Anser cover for the Driver and hybrid... but I bought the "black replacement covers" from Ping so that there wasn't a noticeable difference. they are almost the same cover.

Driver - Black and Grey Anser

3/5 wood - Black Ping cover

Hybrid -Black and Grey Anser

 

really the only difference from about 10 feet away is the grey patch on the anser head cover. The Anser head covers arent very overstated

 

Where did you find the black Ping cover for the fairway woods? I picked up this cover for the driver and hybrids on clearance at GG but couldn’t find the fairway cover.

I have matching headcovers galore already and have a set of Rose and Fire ballistic nylon covers on the way to me.

I have my driver 3 and 5 wood all the same and am thinking of getting a matching putter cover too

For me, the colors just have to go together, and match the bag. My current headcovers are matching Stitch Driver, X wood, and Hybrid headcovers. They happen to match because I found them on clearance at the PGA Superstore. My other hybrid is a JuJu cover. I also have a Daphne wolf headcover for my driver that I will swithc out when I just want to use something different.

 

My bag is black, so all my headcovers are black and grey. The good thing about black is that I can get other colors to go with them. I have a few putter covers that I rotate between. A couple of them are custom, and 1 is the Kingston putter that came with it. I found a waxed canvas Rose & Fire on ebay yesterday that will be coming in this week.

My covers for my G400 driver, 3 wood and hybrids do not match my red and black Ping Pioneer bag and it’s not good for those of us with OCD lol. I’ve looked into getting custom leather covers for the G400 clubs but at the prices they run, it would cost about the same to buy another bag. I thought I was gonna use some of the generic black Ping covers but I could not find the fairway wood cover to match. Sounds like I need to post a for sale ad soon.

I stuck with the combo I posted last year for a surprising amount of time. I eventually replaced the white F7 covers with black F8 covers when the driver and hybrid were upgraded, but now I'm using different-but-coordinated non-OEM covers.

 

 

 

The Driver/5w were $15 for the pair and the poms were $16 for a 3-piece D/Fw/Hy set, both PRIME. I went with grey on the knit covers to help tie the black PU covers in with the grey iron covers which I already have, and it did the trick. The generic Odyssey cover is temporary and pulled out of my stash while I wait for a black/red TFi 2135 cover to arrive from Global (I have the '18 Satin TFi 2135 Elevado which came with a grey/blue version of the same cover). The red personalized PGA towel you see hanging on the lamp beside the bag looks great with the rest of the bag, but I'm sticking with a waffle towel since they just work better for cleaning clubs/grooves, especially with one end damp.

 

I've also made around $250 selling all my hoarded "old" OEM headcovers on eBay over the past couple of weeks, all in the $5-$15 range. If you're sitting on a stash of old covers you'll never use (I don't have any of the associated clubs anymore) you're probably better off letting them go for $5-10 each, making $1.50-7.00 per cover, and putting it towards something you'll actually use.

To each their own I would say. If you like em to match, great, if not, great as well.

 

Personally mine do not match. Driver head cover is Lou Seal (SF Giants Mascot), 3W is Chewbacca, and Hybrid is a Panda Knit.

My Castle Bay iron covers match. Putter cover is same brand, but from a different model since I named my putter Fang, I have a GSD Daphne on my 5 wood, others are all same OEM but match my USA color scheme Donald Trump is President C130 USA bag.

Not matching for sure. I play TaylorMade gear and personally I run the stock M3 headcover and the stock 3HL M3 headcover but I bought the “throwback” white headcover for my M3 hybrid.

And the retro Scotty headcover sets the whole bag off!

I use to collect those stupid SC headcover when I was a kid and I’ve since gave them all away. If I would have known they’d be worth a pile of money!!!!!

No irons covers BTW.

I prefer the matching OEM headcovers. I haven’t found anything aftermarket that I think would be worth replacing them with.

I go slightly different to the poll question - my headcover is the cover that comes with the TS and then my 3 wood and hybrid are both the black version of the Titleist leather headcovers. I don't want them all to match but I think that they TS headcover is going to do a terrible job of looking after the driver shaft so I am going to need to come up with something to sort that out.

The worst part is you're 100% right... and I mostly couldn't care less about chatter or other cosmetic issues related to my irons. Unfortunately, I ABSOLUTELY CANNOT STAND the sound of irons clanking together when riding on a cart. I was able to get away from covers while I had a functioning Ogio Silencer Cart bag, but several of the grip mechanisms wore out while under warranty and they didn't have any more in stock to replace it with... so now I'm back to covers, even on cast irons.
