PING Crossover Users: What shaft are you using?

I tried the demo club out and really liked the feel of the clubhead and the performance, but the Alta shaft is a bit light for my taste. I ended up getting one and through a Rogue Black 85 in. Haven't yet hit it, but just curious as to what shaft other users are playing in their Crossovers.

Im surprised at the number of people that are sticking with the Alta. More are going for the tour shaft (which is a great shaft also), but it's like 60/40 where I would of predicted 80/20. The Alta is light, but it's a nice shaft for people that are looking for a lighter set up.

Anyone tried it with a steel shaft similar to their irons. To me this would make perfect sense as the club is really a ling iron replacement. I have the G irons and was thinking G of Trying it with the AWT shaft.

I'm using the Alta. It is a lighter shaft but that is what I was looking for. I demoed the tour shaft too (didn't bother with the steel) and found the ball flight was a little low for me. If you have the swing speed for it I could see the tour shaft being the way to go. It felt great just hard to elevate for me.

Just ordered the 4 and 5 Crossovers with AWT 2.0 steel shafts to match my irons.

I wouldn't mind hearing from anyone who has the Z-Z65 shaft in a Crossover. Seems like the perfect combo of iron shaft and head to me.

I just got mine, took almost a month, and it has a project X 6.5 Shaft in it. Same as my irons. I won't be playing until this weekend. I'm hoping it does what I want. I like the apex ut but I can't work the ball with it and all it hits are high pulls. Not draws, pulls and it's set 2° flat. At least the pulls are predictable.

That combo sounds awesome. I am still waiting for mine and I preordered. April 11th is the estimated date. I threw a x100 shaft in the three.

 

I just got mine, took almost a month, and it has a project X 6.5 Shaft in it. Same as my irons. I won't be playing until this weekend. I'm hoping it does what I want. I like the apex ut but I can't work the ball with it and all it hits are high pulls. Not draws, pulls and it's set 2° flat. At least the pulls are predictable.

I was going to get the AWT 2.0 to match my irons, but de died to go with the Tour 90 S. I was concerned about weight with a steel shaft.

I pulled the Tour AD Di 85s hybrid shaft from my old adams hybrid. Works quite with the 4 iron crossover.

I ordered mine (3) with the tour stiff shaft. Currently they are backordered, so mine isn't scheduled to ship until April 11th.

How did it go?

 

It was blowing 30 to 40 all weekend here in Vegas. The holes where I would have normally hit it, I didn't. I hit it on the range. Feels nice and didn't pull any. Playing again this weekend. So far no wind in the forecast. Lol.

I am a big fan of mine. It did take a good range session to get used to the flight. I was also shocked that I can miss left with the club -- I am a lefty. When it is struck well, it is perfect and provides exactly what I was looking for, a long penetrating flight that is easy to hit off the tee and turf. When I put a bad swing on it the club doesn't punish me. I am happy that I went with the X100 because the alta feels too light.

I'm very interested in this in 18 degrees. The Alta is too light and not a fan of the tour shafts. Reminds of the di family which I don't care for. There are very few hybrid shafts available through the custom department. Any recommendations?

Ordered mine through 2ndswing with an Aerotech i95 to match my irons and I'm glad I did.

Almost went recoil but got a deal on one on the bay with the tour 90. A buddy of mine got the Alta and he says mine feels way better. I haven't hit his or any other shafts in one but the tour 90 seems like a good shaft to me. Had the tour shaft in a g30 driver before and no complaints with either one.

I got the Tour 90 and think it's a really nice compliment. It's a great club, but not sure it'll knock out my 25* hybrid.
