What putter did you just buy ?

I just bought a SC circa 62 from another member and sent it off to kickstand. I'm thinking about doing a matte black finish with lime green and silver paint.

I bought 40 vintage putters in the last 30 days. Some are very obscure (I have posted them on this site).

I LOVE that old putters still deliver. The simple design and composition produce wonderful feel, feedback, and results, without the frills (and high price) of today's over-thought clubs.

The putter in my bag is a vintage Ping Zing with a slightly oversized Winn grip. The second-favorite putter I love is (of all things) the Zebra Z2.

Putting is so personal it is CRAZY. My least-liked Ping putter is....the Anser. Go figure! I just can't stand to look at it down there.

But I really like the old Ping Rite-In. If you haven't tried that old dog, do it. As well as the Ray Cook aluminum, I think it's the M1--sweeeeeet sound and control.

My slogan is: The Proof is in the Putting. And darn right!!

Really, new is not better. It's all in your eye and feel.

Anyway, old could be gold, where putting is concerned.

Picked up an Odyssey White Hot Pro #1 recently on sale at Dicks. Love it so far. A bit heavier than the PING Anser G5i that I had in the bag previously. Still trying to figure out how to get consistent speed out of it over 10ft but that'll come with time I suppose.

Looks like someone had twins, eh? Congrats!

Nice looking putter too. Really liking the looks of Kingston product now that they're pushing custom stamping and removed the logo from the face heel. Not hating on the logo, it was just too big for my liking and I like the freedom to put other stuff there.

They can probably get away with just the K now since the script/font is so unique... oh wait this is the WRX Putter folder and no one outside here knows who Byron or Lamont are let alone Kingston Putters!

[/quote]I agree with your assessment. Too many people buy new putters thinking the "latest and greatest" will drop it in the hole with less strokes. It's all about feel and getting a putter to give you that feel. I use an older TM Daytona that feels great for me. I am not saying new putters won't give this feel to a golfer, because they will if you get the right fitting.

Thanks! Actually it was a wedding present with mine and my wife's initials and our wedding date. I love the putter, already want to order another one with the oil can finish.
