I like Sweetgrass, it's not Greywalls granted, but it's fun and usually in outstanding condition. Plus, all the rounds were purchased from Michigan Turfgrass Foundation charity auction.

Not certain if you're asking about Greywalls or Sweetgrass. If I was doing a top 25, Sweetgrass would be between say 18-25 and Greywalls between 6-10.

As usual, the weather was a factor—wind/sporadic rain on the first day, and wind the second day made it tough. I finished just in the top half of the field, after a couple rounds of scraping it around (80 on the Heather, 76 on the Moor). I actually won a skin (with just a birdie, somehow), which was a first for me in a GAM event, and that more than paid for the tournament, so overall not bad. No matter how I play, I love it up there. My wife & I went to TC/Elk Rapids/Bellaire for a few nights beforehand, and stayed an extra day after the tournament at Boyne, and had a great time (it’s an annual trip, and awesome every time). We also took OW’s recommendation and played Elk Rapids GC, and though the phenomenal weather helped, the golf course really is a fun one. Great suggestion!

Well, I didn't finish DFL, so I got that going for me. 88/86. Was wore out mentally, that's my excuse and sticking to it. Finished 3rd out of 38 in a 4 day stroke play event {net} the week prior and played a member/guest the weekend prior. Won a skin on #17 Moor course. Discovered a new to me restaurant, Paper Station Bistro in Harbor Springs. Panko/Parmesan crusted perch was outstanding! Only regret is didn't cross paths with 3j to say hello.

I wish I'd seen this yesterday! I played solo on the Heritage course yesterday, after spending most of Friday tapping into my social media buddies from the UP trying to find a partner. Anyway, I had an enjoyable time on my own! It was my first non-scramble in AGES, so I was pretty happy with my results. Par'd out the couple of par 3's on the front 9, but sadly, 3-putted quite a few, and got my ass handed to me on that 8th hole...though, I'm happy to say, I never had to invoke the "if you double par, pick your ball up and head to the next tee" rule.

I did learn that I can't hit Vice Drive balls worth a darn. I played the bulk of the round with Bridgestone E6's, but had the most success when I switched to some Noodle Neons.

Sweetgrass is always good. Guy I play with has 12 free rounds to sage run but unfortunately I have to work. Heard its getting better. I haven't played it yet. Some say its like graywalls where you have to know where to hit it. I will play this month and will report back

Was a great weekend of golf, my father in law was up from Georgia, 84 years young, he had a hole in one Saturday on number 4 at the Tamaracks, he shot his age, i had 79 with some grip changes suggested by my local pro,

Sunday was great at the Quest, good polite people working there, it was a bit tougher track for my father in law, he shot 94, i had 81,

all in all, great weather, good company and both courses had nice conditions and people working for them, too bad inquiring in the pro shop, they do nothing for a hole in one, oh well

Timber Trace in Pinckney has been in a steady state of decline all summer to the point where it is almost unplayable. Course is not being watered, like a dust bowl out there. Anyone have inside info? My guess is that ownership is killing it so the property can be switched to residential? Fun course with a nice layout, shame it's being killed off.

I certainly hope not...I used to work for a developer who built a ton of new homes in and around golf courses in that area, and they had less-than-stellar quality, which led to some interesting issues with the building authorities there.

Sweetgrass yesterday. The more I play this course, the better it gets. It's not gonna knock your socks off with elevation changes or dramatic views, but there is not a bad hole out there and some really good ones mixed in. Plus, it's in private club condition with a way better than most practice area. Stay and play pricing is pretty good as well. Sage Run today, if it stops raining.

Yeah, I half expected to see you at Teddy Griffin's again -- with your division on the opposite courses each day, and the shotgun on the second day, it was not conducive to that happening. We need to make plans next year to at least make a point of grabbing a beer at some point.

Mclancy: Fellow Lansing resident and work at MSU. Play in a golf league out at Hawk Hollow and Eagle Eye on Tuesdays. Unfortunately last night tonight. Not sure I can meet up for a round this week due to work, but would for sure tee it up with you sometime. Usually try to play well into the fall. Shoot me a PM if youre interested!
