Awesome stuff guys, and as most have said, we really appreciate the time and effort.

Small request, but I haven't seen a single picture of any of the irons at address. Tai was kind enough to post shots looking down at the woods, but only iron shots seem to be of the back of the head.

Looking forward to hitting these soon!
Don't forget this is a woods thread.....irons were a bonus! Go down a bit for the Live vapor irons thread...
I think anything that was given to the guys on this trip is fair game to ask about, and that includes the irons. This thread may be titled wood experience, but clearly it was more than that.
Exactly, I'm sure someone who has their irons will snap a few pics. I would if I had my set, but not sure on the ETA for me.

Can't answer that for you, some of the other guys will be able to. From what I heard though both here and in other threads is that the new shaft is great. We confirmed about 10x that this is a real deal shaft and not "made for" :)

T - handicap doesn't dictate the driver fit into. I know several + index guys who are very short off the tee and are using GI drivers with Reg/Stiff shafts, I also know plenty 10+ indexes who have 115ish SS and X-flex everything. I think our group will cover a pretty broad spectrum once the dust settles and everything is said and done. I know from talking to them our fitting processes to get to the final choices were very unique in both woods and irons. I know I have been absolutely drummed by guys I was outdriving by 60 yards :)
True enough. I'm just used to seeing review that say, "X" flex this and that, where no one is using a Reg flex shaft with a high launch. I have my heart set on the Flex with a high launch shaft for some reason.
Go for it! If you like the Vapor Flex, no reason you can't make it work for you if you are able to dial in the right setup.........maybe loft set at 11.5 and a R flex shaft with a softer tip section. Hope you have access to a good club fitter in your area and can try various setups before making a purchase.

That is how I had my Covert 2.0 Tour set. Probably not the best head for me (SS 93-95mph) but I liked the look of the head over the Covert Performance. I set the loft to 11.5 and used a UST VTS 5R Silver and had acceptable launch and spin numbers with tight dispersion........hit it pretty straight. Overall, good enough for me as I'm not trying to get the last bit of performance out of my driver.

My Vapor Pro is so much easier to hit/play than my Covert 2.0 Tour. I have the loft set at 10.5 with a UST 4U 6S. Haven't checked any launch numbers with a Trackman but the ball flight is right in the window I expect it to be and spin looks good downrange. Based on where the drives are on my "home" course I'd say the Vapor Pro is 5 to 8 yards longer. I'm also finding the Vapor Pro to be easier to move the ball around; high to low and moving the ball via fade or draw.

Great Reviews but now Im torn between the PRO and FLEX Driver! Did any of you loose distance going from the PRO to the FLEX?
Same here! I honestly can't wait to hit these. The FLEX and the ability to crank up the loft and still kill the spin is very tempting.

Pure... You said that your irons are being made and sent to you, are the heads made at the oven? When I had the mm proto I noticed that the parts came from somewhere else it's just that they were assembled at the oven. Not actually "made" from scratch there

There are a few ATHLETES that get that treatment - want to guess who they are? You are correct though most of the tour equipment is just assembled at THE OVEN.

Pics of the Flex 3WD:

VAPOR-1.jpg

Tai great review as always! What did you like more between the two FWD's? CT I couldn't get if off the ground off the fairway, but it was a canon off the tee. The CT 2.0 just didn't look right to me so I went with the CP 2.0 And it's been a good club. Ryan mentioned something like the speed was a bomb and just that, and the flex was more playable from any line?

Wie's TS is absolutely stunning. I wish all the wedge came with the loft stamped on the back.

Last question. What loft will your 2 and 3 speed be at and was there a lot of loft adjusting for all three sets to match?

Thanks.

Oh yeah one more did you guys get one of those tour bags on the range?

Anyone have a list of available shafts, i looked at the "catalog" post but it says file not found?
I love this comment - because it proves the point we were making - which was heard and will be addressed. EVERY shaft is available PERIOD. If you want it and NIKE can get it - you can play it. They have the most expansive offering in custom shaft options, yet don't communicate it or market it the way they could.

I don't think they are being "made" at the Oven, but I'm assuming they are being built there. I'm not sure, to be honest. A lot of this trip was a complete surprise for us, amazing surprises, but surprises nonetheless :) I will keep you posted once I have more updates, or a brown box shows up at my house.

Thanks! I'm glad you of all people enjoyed the review.. I felt we had to represent for you and Shane while we were there. To be honest, I didn't hit the Speed at all, and only hit a few with the Flex. My initial thoughts of the Flex were very positive and again, better than the Covert line all together. In one of the sessions, they made a strong point to say the Speed model was an all out distance beast, designed for MAX distance. The Flex was more refined, and in between the CT and the CP of previous lines but better. Also, the "chasis" of the new Flex FW is built off the Rory VR LTD long hosel "strong" fairway wood (tour only), again reinforcing Nike's push to bring "tour proven" clubs from the best players in the world to retail.

Actually, this is a great point that I should add to my review. One of the main things I got from conversation was that they wanted to make what we saw players using on TV (within reason) available to the public, hence the RAW wedge option.

Re: my set, not sure what to expect. They have my specs and feedback from the fitter, so I guess we will see what shows up? Honestly, no clue. Also, we did not get any tour bags, guys got various models of stand bags. Not sure if I'm getting one of those, but I do have my eyes on one from the new catalogue.

Also, what size shoe do you wear?

I remember the shafts for mine were USA made.

The heads were I think from Taiwan.

Great reviews gentleman I can't wait to get these clubs on the flightscope. I see a driver battle in my future between the Vapor Pro/Flex and Callaway 815/DBD. Oh and the wedges are going to really turn heads when people see how they are "displayed" in shops. Can't wait to see people's reactions. I'm sure you guys know what I'm talking about.

Yeah I've read/heard that but I wa shopping to get the upcharge amount would be for a shaft, I chatted with Nike today and they couldn't give me a price, they said I would have to deal with an account shop.

I was just hoping to get a quick answer.

    • Titleist GT drivers - 2024 the Memorial Tournament
Early in hand photos of the new GT2 models t the truck.  As soon as they show up on the range in player's bags we'll get some better from the top photos and hopefully some comparison photos against the last model.
