Post pics please. I've watched wanted to pull the trigger but I'm afraid it'll be something I don't love.

Reach out to them, best customer service in the business. I wanted a collection of green tartans to match my new bag. They sent me suggestions, took my other ideas, and are doing a custom patchwork at the same price as Le Montage. They're all done my hand and made to order, so I don't think it's an inconvenience.

The only thing to keep in mind with custom orders (or at least if you ask for a tartan they don't currently carry) is that they require you to order at least 3 pieces. It worked out fine for me, because I was getting a driver/4w cover for my wife and a putter cover for myself in the same tartan, but it's an investment.

 

Planning to pick up a driver and 3w cover for myself at Bandon over the weekend!

 

That must be only for custom tartans they don't carry, because I just placed an order for a single custom patchwork hybrid.

 

Looking forward to seeing what you get at Bandon!

Yeah, I think it's if they have to order the fabric. The one I ordered is now listed on their website as one of the ones they have available, so if anyone is in the market for a single MacDonnell of Glengarry Seamus cover, you're welcome. :)

It was tough choosing just one! Especially among the driver covers. There were a lot of great options there, but I'm happy with what I chose. All of them have green, red, blue and white in the tartan, which ties everything together pretty well.

So decided to pick up two of these to match my new golf bag. They finally showed up yesterday and I am extremely happy with them.

 

Any issues with using some type of waterproofing and stain block on them so they stay clean?

Any issues with getting the wool covers wet? I've had a few wool tartans for about a year but haven't played in really wet conditions. Playing this weekend & forecast calls for rain. Should I rock these in the rain or will they shrink or otherwise get damaged?

wool is generally fine. think pea coats. just make sure to air it out well after.

Does anyone use a Seamus putter cover with a mid mallet style putter? Currently using a method 003, soon to be Miura 007 and would love to pick up one of these covers.

I used mine for a short time on a Betti Kuchar #1, which is a pretty fat head, and it fit fine. They're fairly roomy covers, and would have no trouble fitting a KM-007.

I have 5 of them which I rotate on and off.

The material on the top of my driver cover was starting to deteriorate and Seamus replaced it no questions asked. Top notch company.

The fact that you have 5 definitely makes me feel better about the fact I just ordered two more for a total of 10.

Fairway cover is called "Hebridean Mist", hybrid is the "Countryman" and is half waxed canvas, half leather.

Interested to hear the answer to this--I refrained from pulling the trigger on a DJ Spider because it wouldn't fit in my Seamus cover.

 

I seriously wish they would go to magnetic closures for the putter covers. It's usually not a problem if I'm careful about tucking the cover into the slot in my bag, but I've had to go back for mine a couple of times, and that's never been an issue with any cover I've had with a good magnetic closure.

Just picked up my 5th Seamus cover in the most recent Seamus Roulette (I like doing this because I basically like all the stuff they've put out and have a tough time deciding). Very happy again with what I received (the hybrid cover). Need one more for the last hybrid in my bag. Now just have a thought time figuring out which driver cover to bag.....

Is that a slip-on putter cover? I'd be very interested in something like that if I could get it with the tartan fabric throughout. My frustration with the velcro is growing -- it seems to want to come loose in my trunk and in the bag if I don't take care to really tuck the bottom of it into the bag slot.

It is indeed! They also make them with magnets, but mine was a fundraiser prototype they did years back. It's called the "Sherpa" if I remember correctly. They still make them in a variety of Tartans. If you cannot find them online on the site just drop them an email or call- some of the best and quickest customer service I've ever experienced. Do note tho: this works well for my Ping Cushin and more of my blades/half mallets, but it does shift a little. I often will just take it off for the round when riding in the cart. It probably won't fall off, but my putter is shorter and it sometimes the top of the bag may help to push it off on bumpy rides. No issues with my longer putters, but I'd be pretty bummed if I ever lost it.

Wait, what do they make with magnets? I did a full custom order (customer service was awesome) because I wanted a tartan they didn't have around this time 2 years ago, and I asked about a magnetic closure for the putter cover, and that wasn't an option at the time.

My apologies 3JP, I misspoke- they had different style covers but no magnets. Must have gotten that one confused with another manufacturer. But I still really like my putter cover.
