SEAMUS GOLF - Headcover Review

I think you can get some kind of discount if you're a first time customer(10 or 15%?). If there's nothing on their website or Facebook I'd recommend calling and asking; you probably just have to agree to get their periodic emails. I've been very happy with my purchases, and the young lady I've dealt with on the phone a few times was very friendly and super helpful.

I have been using my putter cover for a couple of weeks now (Lilikoi Putter cover). When I first got it, I sprayed some scotch guard all over it and it seems to be keeping it very clean. I love the look of the cover. The only thing I wish was different is where the velcro is placed to keep it closed. It isn't quite close enough to the shaft and my putter tends to slip out of the cover quite a bit during a round. I feel like I am going to lose it b/c Im not going to realize it slipped off of my putter. I think Im going to take it to a local tailor to add a button or more velcro closer to the shaft.

You might reach out to Seamus; they have phenomenal Customer Service. They might offer a remedy or at least take it into consideration for future designs.

The putter covers are gargantuan. I could definitely see it being a problem on some heel shafted blades.

I have several center shafts mid mallets and a blade or two and the fit is outstanding.

Got my Nightwatch headcover for my Ping G driver late last week and i LOVE it... Then a buddy was at Bandon this weekend and he was kind enough to pick up a Snowtrooper cover for my Ping G 3 wood. Now I need to get a cover for my hybrid.

No fancy Scotty cover for my putter as its just the standard gray cover from the studio store this year.

As you may know from following this thread, I'm one of the biggest Seamus fans and supporters. To my surprise, during #TheWRX Callaway event I was lucky enough to attend this week, they had custom Seamus headcovers designed for us to go with their new 2017 driver.

Great review Matt,

How do these hold up in wet weather?

I have had wool and Cordura headcovers from them. The Cordura is almost waterproof and bulletproof. The wool is a tight weave; it isn't waterproof but they're just fine and don't smell or anything after drying. These will make my 8th and 9th headcovers from them; I'll never go back.

For those that have putter covers from Seamus, I see they're a Velcro closure--I've found that a lot of Velcro closures wear out pretty quickly. The cover that came with my Low Tide putter is a nice leather one, but the loop side of the Velcro is already ripped up and the cover doesn't really stay in very well, and I haven't even played 10 rounds with it. I'd love to get a tartan Seamus cover (wife's family is Scottish), but unless it's a much better quality of Velcro closure than I've seen previously, that may be a deal breaker.

So, earlier this year, I started investigating this more, and the tartan that I was looking for was not one of the ones that was on their list, and in the process of researching the process of ordering custom fabrics, I found out that you had to order at least 3 items for them to do that. My wife's birthday was coming up, so I decided that it would be a cool gift idea to get her a couple of custom covers for her driver and 3 wood, and I'd get the putter cover for myself (she already has a non-OEM putter cover from her university). I exchanged several emails with a couple of different customer service people from Seamus, and they were great, and the process was very smooth. It was nice that there was no additional charge above their normal prices for the custom fabric, and the covers turned out great.

The velcro on the putter cover is okay, but I still wish it was magnetic. It has held up a lot better than some other velcro closures I've used, but there are times that if I'm not careful about cinching it all the way closed, the heel of the putter can start to slide out in the bag. It's really the only complaint I have, and it's a pretty minor one.

Here's a pic of the ones I had made:

Ping G430 LST 9* (set to 7.5*), 45", Fujikura Ventus TR Black 6x
Ping G430 LST 14.5* (set to 13*) Fujikura Ventus Black 7x
Ping G430 Max 18* (set to 17*) Fujikura Ventus Black 8x or Tour Edge CBX Iron-Wood 17* (Black Pearl) Fujikura Ventus HB Blue 9x
Epon AF-306 4i + Epon AF-Tour CB2 5-PW, Nippon Modus 125X
Yururi Seida Black 52*, Nippon Modus 125/Titleist Vokey SM8 58* K-Grind & 62* M-Grind DG S200
Byron Morgan long pipe neck B-17, Brushed Mystic finish, 34" or Byron Morgan long pipe neck beached 007x

Just received my first Seamus cover a couple weeks ago.

Seems to be a really nice cover, with a nice fit, but easy to pull on/off

Ordered my second one using their holiday code!

Thanks for mentioning the holiday code. I was able to find it and ordered a Driver and Fairway cover today.

I received a fairway cover as a gift for Christmas and the fit is pretty loose on my M1, has anyone else experienced this with the fairways? I was going to shoot them an email to see if maybe I just got a dud but thought I'd check here first.

They don't fit super-tight, but they have an elastic band inside. My 3W has never fallen off.

Likewise, and I've even used mine on some fairly compact club heads and 5w and 7w.

I have one for my driver and love it. It fits well, stays on, and is easy to take on and off. I bought it last year and so far, no signs of wear. I would recommend Seamus to anyone. I also purchased a pouch to keep my phone in while I play. They are a great company.

I think I will be ordering a driver and fairway headcover this week. Just got to pick which one I like. So many options.

Can you spray these headcovers with water repellent stuff?

i imagine that anything that is wool safe would be safe to use. i haven't treated mine with anything but i've been out a few times in the rain and i just make sure to left them dry out naturally after the round. i'll let the wool outside dry and then turn them inside out so the fleece dries

there are too many good options that i don't have enough clubs to cover and they're too expensive to have a ton that only get used once in a while.

So I just found this thread and looking on the Seamus site I really love their head covers. My family is from Cork and really like that they have a County Cork one, plus I like a bunch of the other ones, really want to get a driver head cover.

I am kind of picky when it comes to my headcovers and the look of my bag lol... I have a GBB driver, and I hated the red headcover with it, so I swapped it for a BB Alpha headcover, I hate these damn red XR16 hybrid headcovers, so I have 2 XR Steelhead headcovers on the way to swap those out.

Now the problem, my golf bag... Its a striped snow camo pattern, and im thinking a green plaid head cover is going to look bad with the snow camo pattern of my bag. So then looking at the snowtrooper one, could be a great match, but then again it could be over the top in your face way too much snow camo.. Im really not sure what to do here..

Go with what you feel and what you like. I dont think the green plaid would look bad, especially if it has meaning behind it. If anything it would be a talking point for anyone with questions about the headcover and you'd be able to tell them more about Seamus. It will look way better than the OEM covers.

I say go for it! - - and post pics when you get it lol

I've got the same bag. i've stuck with more muted grey plaids. if i switch to cordura for a winter set, I'll get a couple of snow camo and a couple plain black. I don't think green plaid would look terrible if there was a little blue or a little white or a little black in it.

Any chance you can post a pic, Id love to see how the headcovers look with this bag?

Thanks for the reply, trust me I would love to get rid of the OEM headcover lol.. Maybe I will buy one for my father as a gift, that way I can see what it will look like with my bag before I give it to him...
