I couldn't pass up this deal. Nike Vapor Fly 3 wood, with Diamana Blue shaft for $79. It was a demo, but you cant even tell it has been hit.

Has anyone pulled the fly fairway adapter?

 

Trying to find out if it's going to melt or of its like the driver and only the ferrule will melt when heat hits it.

It's aluminum but go light on the heat. If you get it too hot the black anodize finish can get messed up.

This probably isn't the right place to post this but figured all the Nike folks would have a good idea. I got a VFP, 3W, and 3 hybrid with the recent sale. The driver has an extra stiff whiteboard, and the other 2 x blueboard. My question is how much does the shaft effect the feel of a club? I only have 2 range sessions on the driver and honestly haven't been a huge fan of the feel. I have hit the 3w and hybrid a few times and they didn't feel overwhelming great either. My Fly-Z woods feel better to me and they have stock stiff shafts. Wonder if I switched to stiff I'd like them better, or just get rid of them and stick with my Cobra's.

I love the feeling of my driver and hybrid with the blueboard shafts - never tried/played a whiteboard.

I hit a demo with a blueboard stiff at Golfsmith and hit some nice shots. They felt pretty good too. The xstiff whiteboard just isn't doing it for me. May try swap the others out for just stiff shafts along with the driver.

Nike was the one brand in golf equipment that was just different enough to stand out. Looking at the WITB's this week really made me think of how bland it's going to look on tour. I wholeheartedly believe Nike had the ability to attract young golfers into the game better than any other brand. Man, it's still rough to talk about. But here I am stockpiling clubs and balls like a crazy!! #nikegolfforlife

Just picked up a Nike Vapor Fly driver. Local GS was selling them for $100 and they had a 25% off sale yesterday. Not sure what to think about it yet. That Tensei shaft looks great but 50g's is a lot too light for me. Anyone have one in the 70's?

Not his fault someone pretty much gave it away.

 

The issue we are going to see now, with the clearance they did...is people who would NEVER had played Nike before...gave it a shot. Now they realize how good the Flex 440 is/was, and want a backup due to its chance of breakage.

 

Folks who bought them and it didn't beat out their gamer will use this to their advantage, and will charge $200+ for the head, and keep the shaft. Capitalism at it's finest.

 

Sucks for those of us who have gamed Nike forever and wanted them, but it is what it is.

This must have been planned before the announcement. It is a little odd that they are releasing new product now. I ordered a few dozen custom balls that are on a truck for delivery today. I definitely would have ordered this colorway if it were available then.

That exact reason is why I had some golf balls customized with my usual playing partner's Twitter handle on it last year. Anyone who found one would bug him or if I hit a house they'd come after him instead, makes for a nice long-con of a prank
