Anyone hit a T1100 in a vapor fly/fly pro?

How do you guys know that you 'like' a certain grind on the engages? I didnt try and toe sweeps but after reading for countless hours online I picked up a 52/56 square and a 60 DS and I love love love them. I can't imagine the TS will help me any with how I'm hitting these right now...

 

I can tell just by grounding them on carpet at a store. I lay it open and it's all feel at that point. I can lu the DS wide open. TS is nice but not as perfect as the DS. I can feel the heel grind and the lip of the face Doesn't rest as low to the turf like the DS.

 

I think it depends a lot on the shot you are trying to play - the Toe Sweeps are designed to keep the club tracking straight out of bunkers or heavy rough, the DS is more for Mickelson type send the golfball up your left nostril shots.

 

I find with my 58 TS I rarely have to open up the clubface, unless I'm playing onto a massively downhill green, it tends to stop around where it lands. Horses for courses at the end of the day though.

no square sole below 58* so i just doubled up on the toe sweep in 54 and 58. think they'll be a nice addition to the bag.

 

You mean no dual sole below 58*? Square sole is available in all lofts.

Yeah, that was my post, and I just meant Golf Galaxy didn't have any square soles other than 58 and 60, (i would have got one in 54 and a TS in 58) but I just went with Toe Sweeps in 54 and 58.

 

Of course I placed the order on Monday, got the 58 TS on Tuesday because it shipped out of the store 2 hours from my house. But the 54 TS still shows "received and processing" as of this morning, 5 days after the order. So I dunno what the hell is going on but I sent them an e-mail about it.

In fact, I am thinking of picking up some Nike irons, since they are so de-valued at the moment. Can I get some opinions on what I should pay for a legit "good deal" on the following sets:

Nike Vapor Speed

 

Also welcome any input on pros/cons for a never before Nike golf club user. These are awesome looking irons and I am looking to move on from my Mizunos (grooves are getting bad lol) for something slightly more forgiving (don't get to play as much as I used to) and at a good value. What specs do you need? Plus 1/2"? Upright or flat? Keep in mind that unless forged, bending to proper specs could be an issue that may eliminate a particular item.

 

I have VPC's but really really wanted VFP's because I play at plus 1/2" but my 3 upright was the nail in the coffin for the VFP irons. I like the VPC's a lot still, just like the black finish too! On eBay, or other sites IF you can find a decent or mint 8-iron set, around $500 pry depending on the shaft in them.

 

Also, the VFP plays at 38.5" 5 iron length whereas the VPC plays at 38" length.

Has anyone had any experience with this?

I honestly think it's the Nike irons in general, I have vapor pro combos and they spin so much with any urethane ball.

I am by no means a pro at creating spin. I hit it and what happens happens most generally. But my VPC's don't create any more spin than any previous Mizuno model I've had over the last 13 years.

The vapor fly pros in japan have a black/chromish finish to them. Definitely plated and definitely BEAUTIFUL!

i get much more spin ever since I switched to the vfp's. my engage wedges get more spin that the old Cleveland wedges I had. I'm not sure if it's because I'm fitted now, my swing improving or what....but for sure more spin than the burners I had before

Back from Nike clearance store. Whole store was 20% off plus my F&F all access pass. Picked all these up for $104.

 

Had a lot of size small since the sample shipment they got were size small.

 

From what I seen, TW v-neck, range crew, aeroloft zip up.

 

Lunar force 1 G for $44

L/S polo for $16

$16 each. Modern fit washed pants x 2. TW flex pants for $16.

Yes sir. If you're also a size 34 x 32. Many pants are left. I found a couple 32 x 32 (I bought them all). No ideal size of 32 x 30.

The spot I go to is very hit or miss on the golf stuff. But they told me they received a lot of golf stuff this week. Mostly sample sizes of small and random pants size.

 

I think shorts also but I didn't check out that rack.

When I had my vapor pros I used mostly the rzn tour black but I used titleist and Bridgestone balls also and they spun more than the Nike but nothing like holy *!#% but Rory might of looked for something different in his ball since he settled on the platinum where I usually play a tour black kind of ball since I spin it enough

Love that colour way, i only wish the leather was softer/better quality. But for that price i would pick them up.
